Exhaust Suggestions! Help!

hey guys im not quite sure what i want to do for exhaust so im coming to you guys for suggestions. As of now i have magnaflow catback that came with my car. My question is, i want to buy a header and dp but idk what i should get. rather its 2.5" header and dp or 3" and what header do you recommend? I was thinking a badmab header with the zzp downpipe but i have no idea if i should get the 3" or not. any help would be great because idk whats good or not lol thanks

I have OTTP Longtube and love them, but I have heard great things about the BadMab and ZZP combo. What size is ur exhaust? 2.5 or 3?

See thats the problem lol i have no idea what my current exhaust is. Are there negatives of the 3" exhaust? I thought i read that the 3" is only really helpful if your 300hp plus?

on the other hand a 3" should be a benift in the long run if you plan for more power if not stay with the 2.5" it will help

If you plan on putting down power then I would say go with the 3 in. My setup is Catless Longtube with 3in reducing down to 2.5 welded intp my exhaust. I think it is fine, but I'm also not really looking to put down serious power

Get the bad mab shorty header and zzp 3"catted downpipe with a 2.5 exit. ZZP website states that the 2.5 downpipe was intended for N/A cars when I ordered my 3".

Wrong lol
Imo I think 2.5 inch is perfect size for an simple bolton lsj. I have the 2.8 pulley with 2.5 inch all the way threw. And on my cavalier. Runs awesome
But theres a thread on 2.5 vs. 3 inch anyways

The one that is wrong here is you, and the 2.5 vs 3 is about catbacks not downpipes.

u can go read the website if you like, says at the bottom works very well with N/A setup.
here is a link ZZPerformance - 2.5 inch Stainless Cobalt/Ion Downpipe #

and the 3" says intended for supercharged engines. here that link also ZZPerformance - 3 inch Stainless Cobalt/Ion Downpipe #

both are intended for the SS/SC.

both will work fine.

There are a few guys with 350whp TVS cars running 2.5" downpipes on here.

im not saying you cant run a 2.5, im saying the 3" is better and is what was designed and intended for the LSJ.

Hmm....

In the 4 or so years I've been on here I have yet to see "actual" proof on which size downpipe, which size catback, and what type of header works best on the SS/SC.

Like I said both will work fine, and both will flow more than stock.

What happens more times than none on here is a person with a particular setup thinks their setup is best, and will shoot out their opinions w/o actual facts.

well that is a given that both will flow more then stock, but zzp is the one that designs and test these products they put out and under the 3" one it says intended for supercharged engine, what I found funny is you dont seem to have a stance on either one, youre just disagreeing to disagree. Either op get whatever you want any of them will work but if I was you id get what was built and designed for my car from zzp.

And your just as guilty of that too its in your garage that you have the 2.5 downpipe and you posted a review of it on the zzp website.

I'm not.

Show me where i said 2.5" is better?

You said 3" is better.

I said both work well. Let the OP pick and choose himself.

On my reviews on ZZP's website I meant their downpipe is the best I've had due to quality.

I've had a few different downpipes on my car in the past and ZZP's is the best so far.

You're indirectly saying the 2.5 is better by disagreeing that the 3" is better. pretty much that simple but either ways I don't care anymore iv posted the facts and dont feel like going in circles about it just to have a pissing contest.

Nope.

I'm saying that I want proof that a 3" is better.

I've tested all different sized downpipes on my car 2.5, 2.75" & 3", and I can tell you from experience there wasnt much difference between any of them (other than exhaust note).

You directly said 3" is better. Where is your proof? There has never been proof on this site, yet we all still argue which is best don't we?

I said both work well, because they will. I'm not saying one is better than the other like you.

I'm also not indirectly getting at anything (like you think). I have been around these cars for a long time now, and know what works and doesn't. I've been there.
