sounds good to me Neb, that might tell us a little something.

polishpaul, when I break my cars in, I do alot of higher gear/lower rpm pulls. I'll come off a stoplight and shift normally into 2nd and then just punch it from there and run it up to 5500 or 6K. or I'll be getting on the highway or interstate and shift normally into 3rd (about 30mph) and run it up pretty high. I don't do a lot bangin the gears, just a long pull from a low rpm in a high gear to a higher rpm. It puts a lot of load on the engine which seats the rings and what not better than just taking it real easy or bangin gears a lot.

sounds a lil like what i did...but everyone has their preferences/opinions on how to break their cars in...but if you do break it in hard like the manual says...have fun later on

I dynoed 250HP w/ just an exaust. My brother w/ his Saturn Redline and Mercury from these forums as well as a few other members here went up at the same time as me. Mercury had an Intake and dynoed 237 HP, and my brother had intake and exaust and dynoed like 240. Another dood that was in earlier in the day w/ an SS had 227. SO I guess I would be considered a factor freak.

We plan to go from a slower roll, but a stop just wouldn't be fair. I'm not trying to see who is faster in the quarter. I'm just wanting to justify what my cobalt is putting to the wheels. I know the simplest thing to do would be to hit a dyno, but dyno's are more so used to measure gains and what not. I figure the easiest thing to do is just go from a roll with him and see which car pulls away. It's obvious I'm making more power than I should though since he didn't pull away from me at all.
Well I don't want to be negative however factory freaks do exist they also work in reverse there are some cars that underperform for no given reason! and some of his mods may just help him out! There is only one way to find out if your car over achieves or his car under Acheives. take it to the Dyno If you are stock you should come in no higher than 220whp. If you do! Good for You and you will have a factory freak!

IMO, those numbers for all of you are at least 10 hp off. All dynos are different and so is the weather/elevation. Still good numbers for you

They used an Inflata Jet Dyno. I mean, DynoJet...lol, just messin guys. Mustang Dynos are more accurate because they adjust for drag. As you increase speed on the dyno, the drag increases also, like if you were actually on the road. Dyno Jet's are good for our cars though because the rollers are equal to the weight of our vehicles..

So, actually..I dyno'd about 250whp and 227wtq on a DynoJet Dyno. I have Stg2, 2.79" pulley and CAI. Every car is different though, so who knows

nope. Gave up on dyno's and deal w/ the track only now

Cut a 13.69 the last time I went. added the 2.8 inch pulley, and a header since then

My brother ran a 13.4 w/ the same mods. My car was actually faster then his, always, but he was a better driver. He had a banging launch on that run. IM sure I could do the same if not better now. Cant wait to hit Ceicel up again in the next few weeks. Got my new tires on, my Torque brace back on, and my new mods Also cleaned my intake filter, changed my spark plugs, got an oilchange, and had my exhaust leak fixed

when you ran that 13.6 @106, what exactly where your mods. That's a godly trap speed if you were only on Intake and exhaust.

I ran 14 psi when I was stock, but I don't think in anyway I have a factory freak. Now it you ran a consistent 13.9-14.0 and dynoed at 240hp then I would say you are a true factory freak. I wouldn't judge anything off a rolling start race. If you can't beat a car from a dig they are just faster than you. But kudos on the great numbers!
