Angry GM is Pissing me off.

I hear that companies are trying to break our PCM's and I sure hope someone gets this done soon. The programmer I have been talking to said that all the info from the stage 2 upgrade is leading to dead ends because of how GM is trying to mask the pertinent information. We were really hoping that by seeing what was changed in Stage 2 would allow quick reading of the original software.
This is really screwing me up because the performance shop says there is no sense starting the build before the PCM is able to be dealt with as the car either won't run or it will run like crap. Also the cams in the build article are likely to aggressive to pass emissions down the road with out proper programming. This can put my whole build on hold for who knows how long.
Needless to say this is really pissing me off. I have tried every avenue with GM that I could find to get them to allow the software to be bought that was used in the article. Needless to say GM is not in my good books right now.

GM are you listening and do you care?????

Did you honestly think they would make it easy? If you don't like it, use a piggy back setup. It is smart for GM to do that from a business perspective.

My word of advice: EVERYONE keep e-mailing HP Tuners! I'm serious, from what I've been hearing, they're VERY close to being done with the BETA stuff. If everyone keeps e-mailing them, it will show huge interest and help the process. I'm serious! I think all they have left is just the scanning function. You can trust my info, it's reliable.

My experience from today's install shows that GM is indeed hiding what exactly was modified in the code. The tech who installed my Stage 2 looked on his computer to see exactly what was being modified and he showed me "unknown" on each screen.

It looks like they don't even trust their own employees with that knowledge

I wouldn't exactly have called it easy. I have been waiting to start this build for 3 months and without the last piece of this puzzle(pcm) I can't go anywhere.

Look at the dyno sheet. It says 7850RPM's. It also has a more aggressive cams meaning further tuning to make the engine run. This means another reflash-software- to make the engine run. Without this "software" the build process is a waste of time unless you just want an expensive, over sized paper weight.

There is a tuner who can fully tune our PCM's. I forget his name, but he is located in Detroit. He has the same software that GM uses when they originally tune our cars, so he has exactly the same tuning ability.

I have spoke with him via email . He told me he is actively working on a tuner for the 2.0 engine . The whole scope of the email was me wanting to take my car to detroit to be tuned , his reply didnt entertain that thought . All he said was a handheld tuner is on the way .

Gm has made a mistake on all of its performance cars by not releasing the access to the PCM. I kind of wish Chevy would be like ford sometimes. There is PCM access to their cars before the cars are even available for purchase. My cousin spent 800 buck for a tuner for his cobra, and it does EVERYTHING.... I guess we have to wait....

I have tried every avenue I could think of and find out about to PAYfor this relash. I have also stated in my emails with various GM reps that I don'tcare about this voiding my warranty and that I would sign whatever waiver they needed me to sign. I expect nothing for free. I only wanted something they obviously have already created at what ever cost the want. All of this so I can advertise Chevy when I am the track kicking the competitions asses in my Cobalt.
