Can you watch the timing on a Interceptor? If so you can take a look at mine tomorrow (if you don't have to work). You can take her for a spin around the block so you can experiance the kit first hand.

We were thinking the same thing!! Figure they would pull more timing to protect the engine from the morons who don't run good fuel.

Hope this is not the normal gain!! I am dynoing a cobalt next wed. w/stage 2 kit and CAI installed. I'll dyno my car right after his car and compare the 2

My guess is 250whp for the stage 2 with CAI (on a dynojet).

Guys, that came from an owner who has the kit installed on his cobalt! Like i said, i could care less as i'm going to tune my own PCM!!!

I will be shifting at 7500 minimum!!!!!!!!!!! After valve spring install of course

I live for the day of no more "EXTREME FUEL ENRICHMENT" in the PE vs TIME vs RPM fuel tables.

I have the kit on my car too. And I know the rev is raised in each gear.

Here is the 1-2 shift

And here is the 2-3 shift

I don't have a pic but it also redlined at 7,000 in third.

Don't the Tech2 device only reading what the PCM is programmed for ? Why when you tune on a dyno and do an RPM base adjustement (for say at 3000 RPM) on the rollers, then going WOT on the dyno, then the cut-off is coming at 6500 RPM on the car's tach, but 6350 on the dyno ? Which one is more accurate ?

I think GM raise the rev limiter by 5%, not more.

Great pictures. I have suspected from the first day I owned my Cobalt that the RPM isn't well calibrated, as long as the speed adjustement. Maybe I'm crazy too ahah.

It's all good either way Relax guys!

why is everyone saying that this kits aren't producing enough, when no one knows how GM reflashed the computer, just becasue they have money doesn't mean they did anything good, all they probably did was richen up air/fuel so the enging wouldn't blow with more psi.

Thats why i have an aftermarket tach!!! It is driven STRAIGHT from the coil! The cluster and gauge are class2 serial data, aka:SLOW

I also see about a 300rpm difference between the 2 tachs!

So, with that being said, the pics confirm about a 200-300 rpm Increase in the rev limiter

Wow your dyno is pretty whack, if the RPM's aren't hooked up right then it's can't be accurate.

She's going in monday for Spec 3+ and JBP poly bushings. Once the clutch is broken in I'm heading to the track.

I'm going to try to meet up with Enufpwr tomorrow and let him drive my car. That way he can compare it to his SS.

Question Stage 2 review

To start off with I am more upset at the Dyno results that I posted than anyone. I was really bummed when I saw the very disappointing numbers. Both of my dyno graphs are in my members gallery. I more than all of you want to be able to say that the person who did my test screwed it up badly. I asked him questions and he tried to say that measuring according to wheel speed would not skew the results. I don't know because I am new to tuning period. Remember that the fellow said I was boosting 5lbs more boost with good A\F ratios and there should have been much more hp. He said as it was said on here 1lb for 10hp. Where did it go?Having said that, I just got back from a long run on the freeway with some good sections from traffic lights where I gave it a good test.. This is what I found.
The CEL is gone. This car pulls much harder than before. The redline is 7,000rpm and the car moves like stink. I am going to try to find another dyno shop to try again but will have nothing to compare it to. I myself am not convinced of todays results. I am going to try to get at least a couple of other non stage 2 SS\SC cars together with me so we can do some comparing on a quiet road.
The last thing I want is for everybody to take back\cancel their kits. I will try this weekend to figure this all out as I as much as the rest of you want these kits to be all we waited for. I had big plans for my car and parts ordering is supposed to be on Monday. Sadly I am bummed out as equally as much as most of you, not counting those who want the kits to fail.
If people want questions answered just PM me. I will answer them.

Actually you are wrong again. How do you feel acceleration??? You said the key word rotational FORCE. So you are telling me you don't feel a Force but you feel distance divided by time???
Lets See:

Helpful Information = 0 ftlbs.
Actual Info , Pix or even proof you own a car = 0 hp.
Convinced you are always right = 0 mph.
You Leaving this thread / forum = Priceless

How about those stage kits for datsuns...... Troll > wasey ...(at least trolls entertain)

At least we have a tester and the numbers will get straightened out
I think I will wait for a wider assortment of Dyno slips before I pass judgement.
Also the main thing for many People is the reflash everything else you can buy aftermarket.
......Waiting on PCM comparison .....someone get cracking.
