Personally I am not going with the lightweight flywheel, just keeping the stock one cause its heavier. If you choose the lightweight flywheel you'll loose torque due to less rotating mass. Being that we don't have a significant amount of torque I'd rather have the stock heavier flywheel with more rotating mass. I am going with a spec stage3+ clutch.

you proved me wrong...good article very informative. Finally the misconception is understood, I'll have to pass this article on to the people who told me wrong.

Here is my response from GM: I'm excited....

Supercharger Stage 1 (p/n 17801947) will be available at the end of March
and Stage 2 (p/n 17803229) will be available at the end of April. The
Stage 1 and Stage 2 kit is part number 17803230, and will also be available
in April.

These kits are as follows,

Part number 17801947 contains, instructions, altered vehicle label, and
fuel injector kit

Part number 17803230 contains instructions, altered vehicle label,
supercharger pulley hub, supercharger pulley, 4 of the supercharger pulley
bolts, belt, hex head wrench, and square head wrench.

Part number 17803229 contains both kits as above, meaning you can get a
partial kit in 2 different ways or 17803229 that is the complete kit.

For information about installation, pricing and ordering, please visit your
local GM Performance Parts Dealer.

Yea, if you have the $$$ and are re-doing your clutch anyways, it's a good idea. Just don't expect too much from it cause IMO it's more of a supporting mod. i.e. when you go high-horsepower down the road it helps minimize the loss of power thru the drivetrain.

Well got a call into my dealer. Too bad i didnt hit this site till almost 5pm. But he is ordering it and getting back to me tomorrow with all the details. I was just about to go in and trade in the Cobalt but decided to wait it out now and see how I like the ride after the Stage 2 install.

Let me guess, you were going to trade it in for a 05/06 GTO. Am I right? LOL j/k. Someone on this site said 260 hp for the GM stage 2.

Just don't do anything bad to yourself if all of our orders get cancelled.
