Well I'm at 2600 miles and my shitty clutch is slipping bad in 2nd gear power shifts or even shifting while going uphill :-(

I really want to go GM stage 2 but obviously this clutch will not hold. anyone know if GM can install an aftermarket clutch and still maintain the warranty ? or does GM offer a better clutch to handle the stage 2 kit performance.

also is this stock clutch the same part number as the one for the non-supercharged model ?

This slipping clutch really is lame.

Your clutch is a wearable item. As far as i know they aren't warranteeing clutches anymore. So the clucth you put in doesn't matter anyway. You would just be paying the dealer to put in your clucth for you.

So I got my stage II kit put in before and it seemed like something wasn't right. I was under the impression that my rev limit would be increased to 7k and it seems like it can "chug" a little bit shifting, at least compared to what it used to. When I took it in, I took the sheet with the red and green lines or whatever and told them to take a look at it. I went back to the dealership today and the mechanic said that he tried to find those numbers and did not find it with GM. I am not very mechanically inclined so I had a hard time trying to tell him what was wrong. What should I do?

Dude,
I got my stage 2/GMPP exhaust header/GMPP touring catback exhaust, with Gm exhaust tip all bought and installed for 2000.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 1400 for parts and 600 labor. It should take them 6 hours labor at the outside to install it all and that's giving them some room. They tried to charge me 10 hrs and I pointed out they should have had a pulley puller to get the stock pulley off instead of having to take off the supercharger. Good luck

Stage 1 and stage 2 kits have the same reflash. So yes you will now have a 7k rpm redline.

i just visited the dealership i bought my car from and the stage 1 was just over 500 dollars, and stage 2 was almost 900. plus installation. i asked about installing it myself and the said if i do it myself or have another shop do it, they give me 12 months warranty. if they do it, i get the remaining warranty thats left on the car

I am looking into getting the gm stage 2 but the dealer wants over 1000 dollars installed... Has anyone seen it cheaper? Also could u put a 3 inch pulley on without injectors and a belt?

Sounds about the right price, that is installed? You might be able to buy online a little cheaper and get a dealer to install.

A GM dealership has to do the reflash for you. After the hardware gets installed, a GM tech has to call GM and get what they call a VCI number. They enter that number in their computer and that tells GM what programming to download into the Tech 2 so they can install it in your car.

On Oct 20th, GM released a message saying that the program IS available for the 07's. So I install all my hardware and call them to get the VCI number. They give me the number and I start installing my new reflash. After about 8 times trying to install the reflash and it erroring every time, I call GM back and they finally tell me that they have been getting word that the program has many bugs in it and it wont install in most vehicles and to just use the original for now.

So far, there is no date when the 07 reflash is to be rereleased. bummer

That's extremely weird, because I have an 07 with the stg2 and I have 7K redline. Unfortunatly, yet fortunatly, I bought mine that way. Wish I could help ya'll with figuring out why you're having that problem. Hmm...

1gmfanatik,

That makes me wonder if someone put an 06 flash in your 07. They say it would not work in our 07's but I really dont see why not. ALL hardware is exactly the same. Even the PCM in our 07's are the same part numbers as the 06's. Have you ever looked up your CAL ID numbers? If not, could you look at them and post your numbers on here to see if they are different than mine.

Oops. I forgot to mention that part Try this site.
http://tis2web.service.gm.com/tis2web

The one I use is part of our GMDealerworld site and has a login that we use. But this one should let you in. You will have to enter all 17 digits of your VIN then it should step you through to get your PCM cal ID's

Mine is:
12610624 N/A Operating System
12608127 00008F08 Operating system

Maybe the 07 flashes that they are working on are just updates.

Could be. I was under the impression that they was full reflashes. I've received a message this morning to not use the new calibrations that GM released on the 20th. It took them that long to finally tell all dealers not to try and use it cuz it dont work. I knew it didn't work by the 23rd .

That's crazy...I'm wondering if the people that had my car for the track testing new some people on the inside or who exactly they were?? They must of had some kind of connection to get this all done. She runs fine, other then the typical idle blip/ slight surge in RPM. Nothing major....After all the talk about the injectors with the GM kit and me havin a 2.79 pulley, I think I may be lookin into gettin 60lbers though. Good luck man, keep me posted
