well from what ive read if you run a 2.8 and cold air there is a good chance that you will run lean about 6k-7k and the computer will not like that and you get KR

there may be an issue with the stage tune those people had. There is a false lean/lean code I was recently made aware of that can potentially cause the car to think it is running incorrectly which might be affecting the car in a way that it is running rich when it needs to be lean and running lean when it needs to run rich.

Is there a new flash fix for that I wonder?

Basically from what I understand, you can run any parts you want if you do a custome tune.

It won't do you any good. They'll just check your tire tread and tell you that you've been abusing the car. If you're gonna go, go all out.

they'll do that ? is there an actual spec for abuse ? what are the exact conditions to quallify for abuse ?

is it subjective ? can a Service manager in a bad mood actually kill your warranty by looking at your tires ?

this sounds too scary and hard to beleive

I'm pretty sure it all depends on your stealership. Some people have good ones that actually stand behind their product while mine don't. I took my car in and after the mechanic confirmed there was a problem with my car he gauged my tread and sent it up as abuse. There's more to the story but the end result is I'm just going to save myself $500 and pay someone else to install a new clutch on Monday.

Edit: Yes there is a spec but I can't remember the number I was quoted. Perhaps some our resident GM techs can chime in with the number.

Yeah about that, my neighbor, Brasco85, put new tires on his car because of how bad they sucked and they also refused to warranty his car as well. "because we have no way of knowing whether you abused the car or not since you switched tires". I get the feeling it's illegal as hell but the local stealerships do it because we're dumb Marines. I could get him to log on and tell his story exactly as it was said if you'd like to hear his side of it. It all depends on your dealership man. Chances are if they have never heard of Stage 2 they'll try to void your warranty. I'm not saying all dealerships are that way but be very careful. Feel out your dealership, if they've heard of Stage 2 then you should be safe.

well i call bs on the tire measurments due to those tires are designed to only last 30,000 km so its even less for miles... the tires are very soft and have AA traction but there soft and life expetency is limited.....if they went by tire wear that dealership should have its head examined.... im a tech at a dealership and thats unheard of... if we really wanted to know what a car was doing we hook up a scanner and see what the car has been redlined too and how fast personally though never seen it done just my 2 cents

well I installed the GM stage 1 and GMsattge 2 belt and 3.0ZZ pulley and NGKplugs with a .040 gap. I also have a K and N intake. I have notice in the last week or so that when I go to give it gas in first gear after havin the car sit over night the car hick ups I then shift to second and it's like the spark plugs do not ignite or the fule does not feed and the car falls on it's face. Then when the car gets running after 5 minutes and it goes away . Anyone else have this problem.?

I have this annoying problem to. I think its just a **** tune. I raced my friend who has the Intense Stage 4 with a 2.8 pulley vs my GM Stage with 2.8 pulley and he pulled on me pretty hard. I think I'm giving up on the GM tune.

did you hang with the Stage 4 intense and was the manifold noticable and worth the money?

No he pretty much walked me! I'm a tech and completely **** about my car so I know she's running at peak. I was PISSED! The only thing wrong with my car is where the factory downpipe 2.5 flange meets my 3" cat back its got a leak, but that should kill my power that much. I'm working on getting this TSB reflah for the Stage kits, but I have no clue what it clears up. As far as the manifold worth in IMO no I would spend a little extra cash and get the ZZ Performance shorty header instead. One thing which bothers me is I have the Injen intake and I keep hearing that it runs the car lean, but I never set a P0171system too lean.

My car came off the lot with GM stage 2 and other GMPP parts installed by the dealer. I did not ask for them, but glad it had them was going to put on my first cobalt. My question is that since my car had all these upgrades before it ever hit the showroom floor can they still void my warranty? I hope not cause they told me I get the full warranty, hell they even sold me the extended warranty. If they try to void my warranty I think I will own that dealer by the time my lawer is done with them. Just wanted someone elses thoughts on this.

the flash is an update TO the current flash so the old flash will be overwritten with the new information and this is for gm stage cars only

I just ordered the stage II kit from fredbeansparts for about $600 and I went to my dealer to see how much it would be to install. He quoted me $84 per hour... should I be shopping around and how long will this install take?
