Just so everyone knows, i asked a array of people on the site, and the verdict i got was irridium were fine.

As far as spirited driving... Omni i think your a cool guy but u may be wrong with this one!
I drove way more then spirited the day i installed it with my cousins SS/sc and SRT 4 and we were going between 80-130 mph for at least an hour just riding around being reckless. ( yeah yeah i know stfu carebears) and i didnt get any preignition. I mean i ran my car into the ground last night and im hitting 15 pounds WHILE powershifting and no problems.

Only problem i had was some belt squeal which apparently fixed itself. I woke up this morning and it was gone, i take the highway and the interstate to and from work and nothing. Hit 130 on the way home and nothing

TO each his own, if someone were to ask me though id say irridium work great, and i have yet to experience a problem with them.

O and matty i did some research i dont think the irridium plugs can cause detonation . i could be wrong im just going by wat a gm tech told me. if not properly installed can cause retard.

BTW... Omni, have you taken out your stock plugs? If you have you would notice that they are irridium. So all the enginiers at GM are wrong? Ya those guys are idiots.

Also, I love how when people come on here with info that conflicts with your own they are instantly accused of being a troll. WAY TO WELCOME PEOPLE TO THE SITE THAT ACCTUALLY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT!

DO NOT BUY NGK IRIDIUM PLUGS FOR YOUR CAR!!!!!!!!!!! I put some in mine. The next day, my check engine light came on and my car ran like complete ****. What happens is, b/c iridium burns hotter than your standard plug, unless you're dumping some serious fuel into your engine, those plugs will cause your engine to run lean. I pulled those plugs out the next day, and the tip on them was orange. That's right I said orange. I had never seen that before and had to ask one of my mechanic friends and he told me that's what the deal was. If you just ran your standard NGK plugs (BKR7E), you'll be perfectly fine.

All I can say is WOW! This thread has pros and cons of each. The jury is still out on this one for me. I had the Iridiums in the car, and it ran like ****. (NGKBKR7E-IX at .040) Then I installed the stock plugs and the car ran much better. I got on the dyno, and the car's power wasn't all there, so I swapped the iridiums back in and it seemed to run better. My car was being tempermental at the time, so when i get this figured out, I'll let someone know!

What does Intense Racing say about this? They've been the forerunners on high boost here, I'm sure they know. Matty is running ZEX plugs, and I hear they're pretty damn good too.

I've had autolite copper cores in for about a month with a 2.6" pulley and the car runs great.
