I just got dynod by zzp

I had zzp do a pull with just my gm stg 2 and CAI. I got 239.6whp. Then I had them install the zzp mid-length header/dp combo and their tune and got 246.7whp. What do you guys think?

Thanks. Ya I plan on doing the h/e, 2.8, and 60's next. Hopefully I can be close to 270whp.

theyre alright. as long as one of the zzp employees like Zoomer or Matt isnt posting, this thread will be fine.

Sounds like an honest dyno OP. The header/DP made a good difference on my car

We've been going over the results for some time and will continue to work on it as time allows. We all expected more and I was discussing with Matt and Ryan. The strange thing was losing power when we tried dropping the OEM catback.

Ryan said pre-install #'s averaged about 237? I think? with 239 being the top run and he's guessing a real world 8-9WHP gain from adding the header/DP. We expected more. The car has a 3.1" pulley and we had bits of KR here and there. nothing bad, just 1 or 2 deg but enough to where dropping pulley size would probably be an issue. Dropping the stock catback did not allow for more timing either.

Matt is thinking winter gas is playing a factor. I'm wondering if is the 2.75" injen intake or the throttle body holding the car back a bit. Truth is we aren't certain. The stage 2 flash runs the car a little lean in lower rpms which increases power slightly but also causes KR to come in earlier, probably due to heat build up from being leaner. I wasn't there during the dyno testing so I don't know if any PCM work was done but mrchyzy16 could prob answer that.

Next we'll be doing some work and monitoring vacuum in the inlet and it's affect on performance, etc. I'm nearly finished with my HE tech article and I think you guys will find it enlightening or if nothing else interesting.

very nice. When I dynoed (results in sig) I had 42# stg II injectors. I odn't know if that's what the problem was, or if the tune needs work, but as you can see I was running a 2.9 that made the injectors go past IDC.

As we speak I have a 2.8, wideband, and dual gauge pod on the way. I have the 60's in my basement and I installed the h/e the other day. I'm also hoping to be around 270 with a proper tune now that I got the injectors right.

Good luck man and props.

the Stage 2 & intake numbers are nice. but i'm a little dissappointed in the final numbers. i was thinking with a header/dp combo alone you'd gain around 10whp. but you only gained 7.1whp with a header/dp combo AND a ZZP tune...... that's odd.

anywho.... what were the torque numbers?

Ya matt had to do the pcm tuning because without it, I was getting a shitload of kr with the gm stage tune. Ya I was hoping to break 250 but all in all, the whole car feels better. Like their is no more "bogging while shifting", it shifts real smooth.

It was like $600 with the parts , install, tuning, and dyno pulls.

the throttle body and intake isn't holding the motor back. winter gas sucks. can't work around it, unless you run race gas 24/7

[QUOTE=HunterKiller89;3456873]the same as with 42#s

so if I switch over to 60# injectors, I have 42.5 with a tune from trifecta... would I need a whole new tune to go with the 60s?

Yes you would need a tune. There are 106565483 threads about it.

I'm also curious as to what the DP size was.
