Smile An idea i had...

Well... I have a couple ideas for my cobalt i would like to do in the coming months...

I want to replace my exhaust system with different headers and dp... I dont need to run a cat, so would taking it off the future dp really enhance performance? I am looking have a y pipe in place and make it a dual exhaust... anyone else done this and what was the easiest way?

Everybody is saying "unless you go turbo, blah blah".... How is this twin charge thing looking? im interested... If its not the best idea, where can i find turbo kits? How is the engine going to fare holding up with the turbo? Do i need to replace any internals... mind you im not going to be pressing her to the max at all... as ill only get to the track once a month...

Any suggestions would be great!

Thanks, Andy

Ways to make your car sound like crap
-put a whistler tip in
-put an 8 inch exhaust in w/ fart can
-delete cat

anyways, less sarcastically, turbo can go far on stock internals. if your not modify it intenesly (south of 375 hp) your probably not going to need internals. there are a couple guys running high output turbos without internals. clutch will probably go. High flow cat well get you as far as you want without making you want to shoot yourself every time you go WOT

Catless is not ungodly loud, run a nice resonator, or two if you really want and it quiets it down just fine. You don't stand to gain barely anything to be honest maybe 1~2hp at most but if you don't have emissions who cares lol.

ol.. thats how im thinking about it... It would be an extra 75 bucks that i DONT need to spend... Now if i do the custom dual exit... I would want a 3 inch exit dp? Or do you think 2.5 would do just fine?

I think 2.5" is fine for the exit of the DP, but I agree with the Y-Split going out to dual-exit exhausts. It just looks badass on these cars. Be sure to post up some videos when your done with your project!
