Read the build book; specifically panels 33, 34 & 133 for dyno

U ever heard of a broken balance shaft due to rpm or hp

Not saying they dont free up rotating mass, but they arent critical items on these cars

Jap got a nice base tune on it tonight. She pulls hard, way harder than my old setup. AFR sweeps from 11.1-12.1 and timing is at 25*. Still some tweeks to be made, there's more power in there with some fine tuning. I'm all smiles though, Jap saw how big my grin was after my first WOT pulls! I went through a quarter tank of E in about 10 minutes.

I would have to disagree on that with a high rpm engine and if they weren't needed gm wouldent have used them and they did

Read again, panel 33 describes them, panel 34 states they used stock balance shafts
