I've been reading on AIS website and it says for the trunk mount system it will take approx. 60-90 minutes to install. On the fender mount kit it says 2-3 hours. Why is this? Thanks.

 

no idea but i usually dont listen to those times....

i took off my stock intake and put on an AEM in literally 30 minutes

 

You have to run a line from your trunk, to your engine bay...

Unless you run this line on the outside of your car, its gonna take a little while to drill some holes.

Trunk mount takes longer then fender mount. I don't understand that..

 

when i installed mine on my bumper i had to take the bumper off to get to the place i was mounting the pump. its a tight fit for the right placement for a drill if you have a front mount h/e. also running all the lines and getting everthing perfect did take about that long. i have a cool mist kit so wiering it up was different because i added a switch to be able to kill the power to the pump if i dont want to use it and also added an indicator light so i know when the pump is pumping

 

i'm assuming they want you to remove the windshield wiper fluid container so you can tap the plug into it

 

first post trunk 1-1 1/2 hrs fender 2-3 hrs

The meth is mounted in your trunk.... so there for... you have to run a line from your trunk, to your engin bay...

im hoping you wanna hide this line... i was being sarcastic that you run the line on the outside of teh car (takes short amount of time)

To do it right and run about 10 feet of lines through your car will take a good couple hours...

 

dude did you read? lulz. he is wondering why it takes longer to install the fender mount kit when its all up front in the car while the trunk mount would take longer to run lines but it has a shorter install time.

when i installed my AIS trunk mount (luckily i have a lift) it took me about 1.5 hours..... i really took my time and read the instruction a few times. i think it tastes longer for the fender mount because your using the windshield washer tank and you have to remove alot more. plus wiring could be alot different.
