Just installed zzp s3 HE

So I was wondering if any of you that have a heat exchanger noticed a drop in coolant temp after the install. Also would it have taken more coolant? all help appreciated t
Thanks

ummmmmm. the heat exchanger fluid dont mix with engine coolant... its seperate from all that. thats why there is an ic pump. so the fluid circulates. so ur answer is no.

in the heat exchanger. lol. then there is that filler neck that is bolted to the supercharger. thats where u fill it. and then on top of the stock heat exchanger there is a bleeder valve for proper bleeding of air.

yes, both heat exchanger and engine coolant is the same. Use only dex-cool. I used straight dex-cool for my heat exchanger, and a 50/50 mix of dex-cool and water for my engine.

It uses dexcool just like your engine coolant, but its a separate circuit.

Why would u run more than a 50/50 mix. It don't cool better. If anything it don't cool as good if it's strait.

Straight dexcool in the IC system? You should always run at least 50/50 mix. Dexcool by itself is simply a lubricant/anti-corrosive/colligative and does not transfer heat well. The water that is mixed with the dexcool is what actually performs the transfer of heat. In hotter climates where the tempurature doesn't get to freezing it is more beneficial to run a higher water mix in the IC; i.e. 75% distilled water/25% dexcool. You should always run a 50/50 mix in the engine coolant.

You installed a heat exchanger and didnt know it was a seperate system from the engine coolant? So have you been running around with a bone dry intercooler? Did you get instructions with it and plumb it into the right lines? I just want to make sure you got everything correct, dont take this the wrong way. Oh and I go 50/50 mix.

I just did a search in the how-to forums with the words Heat Exchanger. There's several of them, on several different models.

It keeps temps around normal levels which are about 180 degrees on an SS/SC. You wont hear it kick in until around 195 degrees and the temps will drop drastically then. If you have no mods that cause extra heat then you wont really see any difference.
