Lean Code P0171
Lean Code P0171
Ok, I've been getting this code for a while, tried some fixes, but it still comes back.
Here is the history of this issue in chronological order.
1. Cleaned MAF and noticed there where the intake hose connects down to the air box, that the connection is folded and probably leaks.
(2 months go by)
2. Got GM Stage 2 Installed, mechanic friend of mine 'said' he fixed the intake piping, but I have not checked it yet.
(3 months go by, but less that 100 miles of driving)
3. Hit a puddle with the front-driver side tire and the code came back almost immediately, and now keeps coming back.
So, what should I do now? Running over that puddle at the same time the code came back leads me to think that it might possibly be a dirty MAF.
FYI, I do not have a CAI.
I was also thinking about new spark plugs possibly, any opinions on that? I figured it couldn't hurt anyway since my car has 37,000 miles on it now.

The p0171 and p0172 is a rich/lean code. This happens when your fuel trims are not within a certain limitation. When it gets extremely cold, or warmer your fuel trims can change and cause this code. Just simply get it cleared and hope it stays off, or get a good solid reliable tune.
It wasn't the reflash that did it unless it was with a newer gm stage tune file. It was more then likely the fact that the battery was disconnected, the code was cleared, and never came back again and or they disabled the code or when they reflashed the code it just hasn't popped up again.
This code is common when the weather changes for a lot of modded guys and we see it all of the time when our fuel trims are out of whack. Just simply delete the code with a scanner or get a better tune. If you have a gm stage 2 tune only though gm should do "something" about it to make that code go away.
Go to autozone and have them clear it.
