Dude, go to the hardware store and buy some Methyl Hydrate (Methanol) and some distilled water.

Combined its probably cheaper than those bottles of Heet.

Not to mention, washer fluid has a lot of detergents, dyes and other junk in them.

Hell you can buy those water cooler jugs of distilled water for like $20 bucks and Methyl Hydrate is a few bucks a gallon.

if you buy the -20* mix ( found at any gas station around here anyway ) its a 50/50 mix. i add one bottle of yellow heet per gallon of washer fluid and im good. this was recommended to me by the owner of snow/performance himself.

Agreed. I get a 20L jug of meth filled for $25. 20L of distilled water costs me $5. So $30 to have 40 liters of water/meth mixing 50/50. And it's pure. No additives like washer fluid.

Must be cold as hell where you live Metallic. Even in Canada with our winters getting down to -40*C we only have 30% meth washer fluid haha.

Yeah a -20 should be like 30% methanol. Go to a speed shop and buy methanol for like $3 a gallon. Mix whatever % you want with distilled and good to go. Still safe on the windshield too. I use 75% methanol in the windshield all the time.

ive acualy herd the oposite josh at ottp said that the methanol will ruin the paint of you car eventualy so i also ordered a trunk mount tank. and as i said earlier i have access to the msds sheet for our washer fluid and it says right on the front page 35% methanol
and it is a -20 fluid

and the nearest speed shop is about 3 hours away from me

Unless you are doing 60mph down the highway and decide to clean your windshield I don't think you will be getting any on the paint

I guess when it comes to bugs I don't use my washer fluid. Find it just makes more of a mess. I honestly hardly ever use my windshield washer sprayer haha.

yeah 35%.

what i do is mark a line on the washer fluid bottle where the unopened level is. pour half of it out. add 3 bottles of HEET and then fill it up with the washer fluid till it reaches the line.

have you ever had a problem using washer fluid? seeing as everyone says there contaminents in it.

has anyone ran into problems with the washer fluid rather then straight methanol and water
