I'm not gonna argue that point man, I take my own car to 7500rpm all day long with 100% stock internals. It's when you add the stress of a longer duration/bigger lift cam that things get hiary.

Ran .425" lift with lash adjusters stroked 1.3mm on 200lb open spring pressure daily to 8100rpm for 40,000 miles without a single failure. I doubt anyone on this board has done anything more severe than that.

I'm sure the kid that doesn't know what the term "lash adjuster" means will probably say impossible or it was eventually doom to fail.

Only additional power needed is for indirect frictional losses. Spring pressure directly doesn't require additional power as for every spring compression event there is an equal rebound. Just a lil fyi. :P

Good luck, having money to throw around definitely helps.

I can see you making 600 hp, but like everyone else has said, it's not going to be with that turbo.

If you're adding a cam with longer duration and bigger lift, you're most likely running a regrind. If you're running a regrind, you're valvetrain most likely has the geometry issues I've been talking about. This is why I'm trying to clear up the facts and fix the actual problem.

This site has so many haterz that it's unreal.... i've noticed every time someone makes a build thread there are always tons of people saying you cant do this and you can't do that. People should get on here to help other people not down grade what they are doing? Is it b.c your jealous that your not doing it???? i'm just saying tons of people always talkin crap....never said that i was going to be the fastest cobalt in the world but i want to build this car and have a decent car......
Sorry man, not hateing here. Just giveing you striaght and honest facts. The 30R wont do it. 4 MOS's huh, thats pretty weird. I dont see how your a E-5 with 4 MOS's Unless you have been in for like 10-12 years. I spent 4 years as a 19delta "scout" I got out a E-5

Anyways, good luck with the build.... do more research on parts!

600 HP on a street legal front wheel drive car is just stupid. IMO.

Anyone else?

You will never even in 4th be able to put 600 HP to the ground on a Cobalt.

Good Luck though.

stock lash adjusters have been proven to hold just fine to well past the lsj's rev capability.

Until you drive one, then you realize how fun they aren't always to drive. Like when you want to pass someone without laying a cloud of smoke or risk losing control of the car.

Well i went to Ft benning for infantry school as 11B then got home and deployed with a motor unit to Afghanistan and went to mup school for 11C..When I got back from Afghanistan my unit done a re-org over to MP and cav scout..... to be a 31E you have to go to 31B school, so that is how i have that many mos's.....OH BTW i just ETS feb 19th with 6yrs of service....so lets say the 3065R does not make 600hp I can change the turbo to a bigger one that will make 600...BUT I'M GONNA MAKE 600 WITH OR WITHOUT TRACTION ON THE DRAG STRIP!!!! I just think it's funny how so many people on here try to crash everything about what people want to do.....I started this post for people to read and have something intersting to read about on this fourm instead of the same old $hit on here. As soon as it's built I will post a video on the dyno...
