My Exhaust Install PICS
My Exhaust Install PICS
Okay, took my GMPP Touring Catback to work with me the other night, and I got it all installed. It sounds completely amazing and I love it. Anywho, here's how it went.
Got her pulled into the garage

Gettin' jacked up...

Where I put the jackstands up front...

Getting those nuts off was something of an adventure, I was glad I had penetrating oil, otherwise it might have been really tough...

Dropped that part down...

I forgot to bring my pneumatic zipwheel with me, so I resorted to a hacksaw.

And that's the position it ended up in after the back half slid out.

New shiny stuff...

Front is up in position...

That wheel is the right rear, to clarify.

Almost done... I love my springs, btw...

The back end...

And thats that, folks.

Ended up taking me about 2.5 hours, the overwhelming majority of that was cutting through the pipe without power tools, it literally took 10 minutes to get the new catback on.
Hope that helps someone, if not, well I had fun anyway

Good write up & I to did mine last night in about 45 minutes but I have air tools & a sawsaz The hardest time I had was getting it jacked up as I had the front up on stands & when I jacked the drivers rear the front drivers side front wanted to lift off the stand.
So I dropped the front & jacked the rear first but then it was a bitch to get the front up as I only had short strokes to pump the jack.
The 45 minutes was after I got it on stands so with the time to get it on stands I's say 1.5 hours.
I love the sound now, How about you?

If you notice in one of pictures, the piece of wood. I carry that around with me at all times, because just that tiny bit of extra clearance makes it SO much easier to jack the car, as even with a lowpro jack, it's kind of a bitch.
I found just jacking up the entire left side made it quite easy.
The sound is incredible. It literally purrs at idle, and it's mellow when normal driving, but boy does she get naughty when you open it up. Definately not too quiet, as some people have said.
And ZERO crackle or ricey tones.
I love it.

I'm not stupid
Nice exhaust, does our car come with those spring perches like that or did you install those with the springs? I never paid any attention to it while I was under mine and its snowing now so im not looking lol thanks
deadly. I just put mine on last weekend...sounds fantastic, just puts a smile on my face. i cut it before AND after the axle, i didnt feel like meneuvering it around to get it out. the thing that took the longest was was jacking, but i used a hydraulic floor jack and jacked up the back end. I think in total it took maybe an hour tops but i was at my dad's work with all the fancy tooling. definately worth the money, and soooo easy to put on.
