super damper - 400
75# supertech valvesprings and retainers - 359
new rocker arms - 150
supertech valves - 325 (can i just go stock replacement and be fine?)
new lash adjusters - 150
head gasket kit - 200
dynotune - 500
miscellaneous assembly stuff - 100

total ~ 3500 bucks. ouch... i gotta get a loan or something

and if i wanna add pistons, rings or sleeves, machine shop... ahh another 1-1.5k easy
you don't need a head set just get studs and a gasket you don't need lash adjusters you don't need valves and you don't need followers that saves you roughly 630 bucks once you add in studs and a hg

nothing wrong with the zzp springs but I prefer a dual spring over a single when the springs are this small

At your own risk obviously but there are 2 of us in DFW running m62 with zzp s2 cams, ported head by euthenasia, e85 on a 2.7 full exhaust on stock bottom end with no issues. We are both 300+ hp cars and have had it for a few month now. It won't be long and I will be adding a whole new slew of parts with the stock bottom end minus balance shafts and mechanical water pump.

That being said, stepping up like this means you are in the area code of a modified car, nothing like s2. I hope you have a DD.

If I am not mistaken, we both used supertechs 75# springs

You think he needs a dd because he is putting cams in? I highly disagree with that

How many people have done mods past s2 and broken something there after? Clutch, axles, transmission, motor,...

that's my point is all.

True but that's all part of modding a car. It's just part of the game. Mine is more molested than the little boys at Michael Jacksons house and I still dd it

or hell, maybe not even a dd but a reliable backup plan. I dd'd mine for 3 or 4 months and not babying it. Anticipating another build and not having a backup plan, I found myself another car.

i do have a dd now luckily that's why i'm considering doing a build in the first place.

can i straight up throw these cams and springs in and drive it untuned? granted i'm on a james rakes tune but its dialed in pretty well for what it is now

Any time stuff like that happens it isn't just because of S2 cams lol. It's just part of modding in general.
