the engine I just pulled apart had 2 spun rod bearings all the mains were **** and the balance shaft bearings are oblonged

I would suspect its more common then you would think that's just one area that gets over looked

the stage 2 cams are not at peak power by 7500. If you look at my dyno sheet its still climbing at quite an angle.

Why do people over here on css think turbo is the only way to build power?

exactly! id throw a turbo at my car and make an easy 100 hp more than this build will make but id rather have strong internals that can be ridden hard and put away wet for a long time.

i wanna stay supercharged. its why i bought an ss/sc and not a tc. theres just a uniqueness factor to having a screaming sc 4banger that i just love

Sc is harder on engines so that's not really a good argument

You guys can love the instant power all you want but once the the turbo spools, the bullshit ends.

im not saying sc or tc is better i just said i wanma have a semi built engine that can take some abuse without worrying about internals unlike most people do by simply turboswapping to make a shitton of power.

i dont even care too much about whether the power comes on fast or if it explodes after 5 seconds its all badass in the end

my car is not and will not be the fastest thing on the block. i just want to make good power. reliably. and stay sc because nhra racecars

no I just buy them from level zero and make my own stubs make sure you lube them up when you put them in or you take a chance of driving the bearing out

how do you actually install them? Just rubber mallet them in or do you need a hydraulic press?

a long 1/2in drive extension and a socket as close as possible the same size as the bushing put the socket on the extension backwards lube up the bushing slide it in the block then use the extension and the socket to shove it back into the bearing then use a hammer to drive it in you will want take the tool out after a few hits to look to see if its all the way in if not keep hammering it in
