It's not that confusing man. Go read up on it on NGK's website.

Stock heat range but not the stock plugs.

Pick up a set of copper core plugs. NGK BKR6E.

Stock plugs in the LSJ were either platnium or iridium. Get the coppers.

Mine came with iridium from the factory.

My GMR head came with platnium plugs and the head is date coded 04.

The manual calls for platnium plugs, the exact plugs im selling in my current for sale thread.

My factory plugs (iridium):

Plugs from my GMR head (double platnium):

GM wouldnt install copper core plugs from the factory. They do not have the service life of plat or iridium, although copper is superior for performance.

Very, very odd. You sure the ones you worked on had factory plugs?

All the manuals I've seen call for the NGK platnium plugs. Even my manual calls for platnium, yet it had iridiums from the factory. I guess just another odd ball thing GM did.

Did ya get your springs compressor buddy?

that's not completely true copper plugs do have the service life of iridium or platinum plugs it is more of a marketing gimmick but ive done several plug changes on 100k plus engines with copper plugs besides that the only difference between the copper iridium and platinum is the tip the core is still copper but the metal change in the tip is what makes it 10x harder to fire the plug

Not according to the NGK rep I spoke to, but whateve, no need to argue about it.

Copper are the best for performance, no need to beat a dead horse wondering which plugs to use.

I like fake arguing with John. Keeps the blood flowing while I'm at work.

For 93 octane tunes run: BKR7E's (one step colder copper)

For E85 tunes run: BKR6E's (stock heat range copper)

Ignore them, lol. That's cuz they arent the stock plugs.

The part number to give them is 4644 for the BKR7E's.

Just tell them you need 4. No need to tell them your vehicle make and such.
