oh, christ, it's just one thing after another isn't it?

i was gonna go with this... doesn't mention it in the listing but i'm 99% sure it comes with the updated tensioner... idk if i really NEED an upgraded one

Well i guess the performance autowerks version is a modified one to be stronger and aid with raising and lowering oil pressure upon accelleration and deceleration

The one that comes with the delux timing chain kit is the one you want.

You do not need this one. Use the OEM one that comes with the delux timing chain kit.

They do not sell the old style tensioner anymore. You are good to go.

that's what i thought. i just don't think this is that extreme of a 'build' where i'd need an upgraded one, considering noone seems to have issues with the redesigned one as is

i've been smelling my gmpp burning after driving usually. it doesn't slip but i definately smell clutch sometimes not even after pulls

Could be installer error, such as not having the flywheel resurfaced when you paid to have it replaced. Just saying the gmpp has been known to hold on lsjt's into the 4 and 500's
