3 inch exhaust is pointless on these engines IMO, unless it is turbo running a lot more boost....

3" works great for me IMO, i only have a 2.9" pulley. Anyways, are you trying to run against a gti from a stop? Cause if you don't have mounts or polyurethane control arm bushings or any kind of traction mods then you may not go very quick. I can't do anything in 1st gear with my setup already, i'm just waiting for GM axles to eliminate the hopping.

Also, how bad are you getting spanked by the gti with 325 whp? I ran against my brother's SRT-4 w/ 310 wtq and 293 whp and he only walked away from me with 3" pulley and full exhaust and intake. The GTI is pretty heavy so you should be at least staying with that gti pretty good otherwise driver mod may be lacking and cooling mods.

we raced from a 35mhp roll and i pulled on him through 2nd and into 3rd.. then once he started boosting he came and passed me. beat me by about 6-car lengths... he was running 20lbs of boost.

well, 3rd gear ends around 105 mph at a 7000 rpm, so if you had him from 35-105 i think you showed him a little something at least. Once you start driving over 100 pure power will beat all, so thats where you should expect him to start reeling you in. with 6 car lengths sounds like you were running up into the 150 mph range which is dangerous for one, but isn't reasonable for racing anyways.

Nonetheless, cooling mods will definitely help you, with a long run like that and 2.5" pulley without cooling, you're putting tons of heat into the engine.

What you need is a good methanol injection kit, front mount heat exchanger, and the dual pass mod done. Your blower has to be screaming hot, and I'd hate to see what your IAT2's are like with that 2.5" pulley! It will make a world of difference trust me.

It also sounds to me like you are playing with cars that might just be a little bit out of your league. They also might me telling lies on the whp #'s too.
