yes. the spring in the wastegate. unless you only want that amount of boost. is just a "baseline" so to speak. your boost will never be below spring pressure. with a boost controller you can somewhat over ride in basic terms that spring pressure. but it's not like you can run as high of boost as you want. the spring will determine how high you can go.

click link. hover curser over "turbo tech". it'll give you just about every piece of info you need.

you can usually double the wastegate spring with a boost controller so if you have a 7lb spring should be able to run up to 14psi with boost controller

Hey guys. My fuel pump has been makin a funky sound during priming lately. Its a walbro 255. Been in the car for a few years. Less then a yr on e85. Car has been acting up lately as in stuttering like fuel starved and during warm up stutters and gets a bad idle dor short peeiords and sometimes dies. Think I may need a new pump? Any suggestions? Ive replace my fuel filter already. Also has been running leaner according to my wideband when I get on it hard and it breaks up bad.

Almost. A little trimming with a dremel (like a couple minutes worth) and it drops right in.

The lines all stay the same, you're only changing what's in the tank.
I've never I stalled a walbro, so I'm not sure. But for installing the dw300, all you have to is take a dremel or even a file and open up the hole in the canister that the power plug clips into, then take about 1/8" off the sending hose piece so that it can clip onto the pump.
The plug opening is obvious once you look at it but here's b/a pics of the other part.

Ok. Great. Should be simple then. How long have you been using the pump for?

How can I tell if my pump is for sure going bad besides the symptoms im experiencing now. I havent noticed a fp drop at my regulator. Damn thermostat is stuck open. Replacing that and my wideband sensor tuesday. What should I look for in my short term and long term fuel trims. How can I tell if its leaning out by the numbers?

Also believe I have a bad battery. Could that cause any misfire/ stuttering issues if I have bad cells in the battery?
