Official Turbo LSJ thread!!!
all turbo timers are pretty much the same, and yes they are worth it because it extends the life of your turbo by allowing your car to idle.
If you are dedicated to your car and dont want to waste money on a timer, then you just allow your car to run for the 30secs to a minute before shutting it off.

Your welcome Laser, I would try to get a small one so that it doesnt take up a lot of space in your car.
Just remember that when the engine shuts off after the timer has counted down that IT WILL UNLOCK YOUR CAR DOORS. If you have walked away then it will leave your car vulnerable. This is the main reason I dont own one.
What I typically do is:
when I arrive somewhere Ill put the car in neutral, set the ebrake, and let the car run while I text my wife and let her know I made it to X location, collect all of my things for work or whatever I need while Im there, go over my notes for school, talk to a coworker if im early to work or just sit and talk to ppl if im early to a meet. that usually takes a few minutes and then I can shut it off.

Exactly, you'd have to set up the door unlock function through the DIC to NOT unlock the doors when you turn the key off. That's it.
timers are rice and not needed. If you are beating on the car, you are probably on the way to somewhere that has an area of road that you are not going full boost into and that in and of itself cools the turbo. Wait 30 seconds to turn the car off like others have said. I rebuild my turbo once a year and I could care less, its 50 bucks and cheap insurance.
It is his car and if he wants a timer and wants to set his car up to utilize it then let him, its his.
And white rims on a yellow car with a bronze valve cover is rice to me, can you not figure out who you want to be?

Is it spring yet? *Looks at car that is hours and hours from being done* "nope" lol I need to get to work. As soon as I buy the F40 its game time.

So I haven't been on here for a little while. Mainly because. I was broke and didnt needed ideas how to spend for money lol. But i started a new job and money is coming in nicely hehe. Someone gave me a offer on my tvs...just wondering what i could expect from a turbo swap hehe. I'd like big numbers but still somewhere reliable. I've read a lot on superchargers but not turbos. Thanks
More power is straight line...pretty much it lol. Like on the highway. I don't beat my car with burnouts flooring it at every corner, but once in a while in a straight line or to pass someone slow its fun
and a bov is just... *jizz* lol.
Reliable would not include long roadtrips or anything. Hopefully on stock bottom end, dont mind a bit a head work tho. A car that i'm not scared of blowing up if i floor it for a quarter mile or whatever
if its possible

That I'm not positive on. I was told low miles, but how low? Not sure. I will have to contact zzp and see if they did the install on it or ask the previous owner if it was done at another shop. It came from the car I bought from Jason Garcia. It has had a bit of power put through it, but again not sure on miles. Ill trade you for that 259et
lol
s252et on E85 would suit your needs perfect I think. Will easily make 400whp, and capable of a bit more, which should still be plenty reliable with a solid tune.

I would trade you the 259 for the trans plus a little cash. Going rate for an lsd trans is about $700-$800. Some cash would help me get that Precision sooner. Nothing like a new head, new turbo, new transmission, and new fuel system all installed at once.
I already have all the cooling mods on the car and a fuel pressure regulator to run the E85 (not sure if I still need it for turbo). I want a turbo that spools quickly and if I can hit 450whp good! If not well I guess 400 is alright
All those cooling mods will come off the car if you go turbo as you will want to run an air to air setup. And the regulator will definitely be beneficial if you want to go over 420whp or so. The 252et could probably make 450whp if you push it a bit, but a 256et may better suit your needs.
