I just hit the strip on Saturday for the first time on the turbo set up and slicks. But only got 2 1/2 passes in before it started to rain sadly. It's definitely a lot easier to run a TVS set up down the track lol. But with some practice I'll get er dialed in.

Almost left on a flat deck though, busted my shifter connector one pass going from 2nd to 3rd. I thought I blew my trans lol.

I'm guessing like an 11.8 @129 or so. Cause I'm sure I'll struggle in all aspects I'll probably crank the boost to combat the bad times/traps haha.

It should be high 10's at 135ish if I could drive it perfectly and could get some good practice, but lets be realistic here...that won't happen

I'll run my slicks. Might to a pull or 2 on the R888's for ***** and giggles. I'll just run my R888's for the roll racing though. I don't really feel safe going 150mph on the slicks lol

td04

Looking into going turbo for my lsj and I have the opportunity to pick up a td04 for a couple hundred buck. Is this a decent start to a turbod lsj? Or should I not buy it

No not a decent turbo to start with. Way too small.

256 et then ? Or is there something in between that would work? I'm pretty new to the turbo world.

You could use a 252et.

Pretty sure a td04 is like a stock srt4 turbo

I can get 249et bw's. I really want someone to try one out. Hella spool and I bet it could still crack 400 on e85 easily.

I think it's time to let go of my 252et. I can't for the life of me get this thing to hold boost to redline. I've tried a stiffer wastegate spring and boost leak tested and fixed a bunch of leaks to 25psi but no matter what I'm running for boost it always falls down to 22ish psi starting at about 6k. So right now it's at 27psi falling to 22psi by redline. I'm wondering if the motor is out flowing the turbo with the ported head and cams I'm running but it's not like it's a crazy small turbo. I guess a 256et over the winter will tell the tale.

You should never be losing boost unless you're out flowing the lb/min the snail can put out. How much power are you putting down?

Ya I know that's why I was thinking my ported head and cams may be helping with out flowing the turbo. It's done this right from the get go. On pump gas last year and 23 psi dropping to 22 at redline the car made 380whp. I picked up 18whp just leaning the car out from 11.5 to 12.0afr on the dyno. I'll let you know what it makes on E47 this weekend with the falling boost. But I spent 2 solid days sealing the car up with leaks. Found 2 major leaks and it still made no difference falling from 27 to 22psi by redline.

I put a brand new Gen 3 short block in it last year. Has about 10,000 miles on the motor now. Runs mint, doesn't burn a drop of oil.

Wastegate issue maybe?
