Crappy? We use double thick, high temp silicone.

Maybe You should use SCE Copper Gasket this time to prevent exhaust leak.

Just put the copper permatex around the primary holes before putting the manifold on. Also use it in between the manifold and turbo

Ok so put the copper on the manifold around the primary holes, put the oem gasket on, and apply around the primary holes on the head? That should cover all leaks right?

So been looking around and researching all this lsj turbo swap stuff. I know we have to pay to play, but so far I have estimated a swap to cost about $5,000 soooo....any ideas where to save some money on it?

Just buy the zzp kit, it's not too expensive.

Ouch. How much boost were you getting after that fitting broke? Without boost going to the bottom of the gate pretty much puts the turbo on max. The turbo still shouldn't have broke, though.

As far as the exhaust leak, that type of gasket never works for turbo setups. I would stick with an oem gasket.

I when you're looking at it. 4 grand for the s252et kit is not that bad. Its a mod that can yield far greater gains than a supercharged setup. Once my car is paid off in august. I will save for a few months then consider doing it. My only concern is installing everything and getting my car running again. Its my only mode of transportation. I live in the middle of no where. Any advice on what not to do once I finish the swap?

I was told they randomly split and crack. Didn't really mean to say that just assumed they were based on what I was told. I misread what starting line said, i thought the hose was cracked not the fitting on the wastegate itself. By the way the zzp turbo kit quality is outstanding. Loving it everyday.

probably best to buy a kit and at minimum a ported head. It really depends on the condition of your motor and how far you want to push it

Well I ordered a new gasket from you guys with the new turbo. And I was running 27psi with the turbo spiking at 30psi. It sucks it happens but I learned a lot from this.

Did they put a 2.5 inch flange on your downpipe? Just get a 3 inch flange and get your local exhaust shop to weld one on.

no it's just bigger like the whole flange itself. the holes to bolt up are wider than my vibrant 3 inch. so i dont feel like taking the downpipe back off so was going to see if the flanges they sale match the ones they put on the turbo swap lsj downpipes

Lol my bad I mixed it up, the vibrant is for a 2.5 even though it's a 3 inch cat back. It was meant to fit on a stock lsj down pipe.

So you have a 3 in flange on the vibrant and a different 3 I. Flange on the downpipe? Looks like you are just gonna have to order a 3 in flange that matches one you have. Sucks nothing ever likes to match up perfect huh? Lol
