option B tank - what to do?
So, I made my own flow through tank (stu mod) and it finally bit the dust and started leaking. so i just bought the Option B tank from rockauto. my question now is, should i keep it as an option B style resevoir? or punch a hole in the top and make it a flow through style?
I'm curious as to if the flow through style is any better than just the option B extra coolant resevoir.
opinions?
Btw, i already have the 90* elbow from the other tank i made, so i could just pop that on top and be on my merry way, or i could go buy a T-fitting and make it an Option B style.

Make it a flow through. That makes it a lot easier to bleed air out of the system. The way I made mine flow through is drill a hole in the front of the tank and got a fitting from Lowe's that is 3/4" barbed on on side and has a 1" NPT thread on the other side. Just gotta tap the hole in the tank you just drilled, cover you fitting in some sort of epoxy and thread it in.

just did this tonight. i made a hole in the top right of the tank, just small enough so that the 3/4 elbow was very tightly pressed into it, and put just a tad bit of silicone sealant on it. filled it up, cranked it up, and watched the flow through goodness commence.
one small thing though, the tank is kinda divided into different sections with only a small hole at the bottom of each to let water flow between the areas. the IC pump is pumping coolant into the one that i tapped nearly faster than it can get to the outlet. kinda hard to explain, but it works, so im happy.
no leaks. IAT2s back to being awesome. well, as awesome as they can be in 95 degree weather.
