P0017 crankshaft code help??

Hey just curious if anyone else has encountered this code and what they have done to resolve the issue. I just reassembled my engine and its been on since I got the car running. The car runs great idle doesn't fluctuate whatsoever. Although it takes 2-3 times of turning over to start.

Here's the code when scanned :
P0017 crankshaft position
Camshaft position correlation bank 1 sensor b

I'm fairly descent with tools, and I've been pouring over the threads the last two nights but can't find the answers.

Any help would be greatly appreciated !!

Ahhh crap that was kinda what I was guessing it would be. Will it harm the car if i keep it like this for a week or two? Just starting school and time is something I have very little of right now.

Also I have cleared the code once. And it came back on as soon as I started the car again.

That's my problem. When I timed the engine I set the camshafta at 10 and 2 and the. Crankshaft at 5, but I did not set the notches on the cam position sensor. Idiot move by me.

Thank you so much !!! Ill have to do this this weekend

By rotating the crank pulley.

Rotate manually until the timing mark on the pulley lines up with the timing mark on the front cover of the engine.

You will need a little mirror to see the timing mark on the pulley and front cover.

The position of your cam gears will look like the photo below when at TDC for Cyl #1 & #4.

Your cam position sensor/housing will look like the photo below when setup correctly.

The cam sensor is out of time....

Re-time as per me & Mrb's instructions, and you will be good to go.

The car wouldn't crank because of a bent valve
