performance chips? FAKE OR NOT

On ebay i see a few performance chips that look like they have almost no chance of working but then i saw that it had 4000 possitive feedbacks so im wondering how would they get 4000 people to be in on the scam or have 4000 people that think some thing works but it really doesnt.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PERFO...spagenameZWDVW

i say its gata be fake, anyone had any personal experience with these?

No cobalt has OBD-I...so chips are fake for us...all they are is micro piggy backs for you throttle control...it makes it so 10% of throttle is the equivilant of 20%...

there would be threads about the gains people observe from that mod if it were for real. Buying a cheap chip or a resistor like some realtor's do is a waste of time and a headache once you get it.

because people are stupid. if you tell them they will gain 20 hp, they put it in and think they feel a difference. even though there is none. the people that have bought the turbonator will try to convince you how well it works, even though it's been proven to LOSE performance.

i've actually read somewhere that that sutpid turbine thing does work on some cars, i'm assuming ones that have a very very poor swirl when the air comes in the carb,

You're looking at it the wrong way. Their feedback just means that they have sold 4000 items and the sale went ok. It doesn't mean the product worked or that they sold 4000 chips. They might have sold 4000 anything before they listed the chips.
Some cars performance is improved with a chip, just not ours. Because of our computer you have to reprogram to tune, not just add a chip that fools an older-style computer.

I just went to the link, what a joke!! You know it's a rip-off when people put words like "Stoichiometric" in the description! Man what a rip-off *******! So then I looked at some of his feedback, and they all say things like "fast shipping" and the couple of red ones said that the chip didn't work.

You have to understand that he is making those "chips" for probably less than a dollar each, and since most people won't bother to return them even when they don't work, he is making tons of money. Capitalism at its' worst!
