pulley size question

whats the smallest pulley you can put on the m62 supercharger without turning down the snout?

what type of difference would you see running a 2.6 or 2.7 versus a 2.8?

It's depends entirely on what you do with it. You can run a 2.8 with fairly minimal cooling mods and get pretty good power (depending on what else you have and your tune). However after that you really need to start thinking about cooling. A 2.6 generates a TON more heat than a 2.8 and that's where a lot of guys start having issues. If you do a 2.6 you'd almost definitely have to run it with a h/e, dual pass, and meth. And a stu-mod style ice box always helps too. And obviously a custom tune no matter what you do.

Bottom line, the smaller the pulley, the more the heat. And after a 2.8 it gets exponentially greater with every pulley drop. If you want to do "minimal" mods, stay with a 2.8+, if you're looking to go all out, get all the cooling mods I mentioned and start with the 2.7 or 2.8 and go from there. There's been plenty of guys who make more power with a larger pulley because of all the heatsoak the smaller ones generate.

You can run it without meth, but you will see greater gains with it

Most 2.6" pulleys need to have the snout turned down. I'm pretty sure the ZZP 2.6" pulley is the only one you can get on there without turning it down. I know some people that even had issues with a 2.7" pulley due to variance in snout diameters.

you should make some decent numbers for sure but will get a lot more with methanol... and yes you can fit zzp's 2.6 on without machining, i have that on my car now. other option which i may do is e85 for fuel and then runnin distilled water (obviously very little) through my tb spacer and meth kit to keep the m62 cooler

Without methanol I would say you wont hit those numbers, especially on the stock header. With meth and a header you could for sure hit 275whp
