Question.

Well I am thinking about keeping this m62 for a little while longer. I was wondering if you guys thought it would be a good idea to drop pulley sizes from the current 2.8 I am using.

With the methanol injection, dual pass endplate with option b, and the cxracing heat exchanger, AND with winter weather, its hard for the iat2's to exceed 100 degrees on back to back pulls which I rarely do.

Even in the summer the iat2's are staying extremely low and I can always swap pulleys out for the summer time.

But for the fall/spring time I am thinking a 2.6 might be a good idea? I am curious as to how much hp, or how much boost I could gain from going down from the 2.8 to a 2.6.

Is the 2.6 the lowest you guys would run, or do you think I could make a 2.5 work. Also, how hard is it on the blower to run a pulley this small, and how hard is it on the engine itself.

I know at 7400rpms I am making almost 20lbs of boost. I generally shift at 7k, but I accidentally hit my rev limiter once lol *I think we've all done it once =P*.

At 7k I am making 17 1/2 lbs of boost give or take, what do you think I would see dropping down .2 or even .3?

you can make ANY pulley work really. just a question of are you willing to spend the $$$ to make it safe and "reliable".

Yea I do. I plan on some nice new diamond pistons, but other than that I think I would be fine. Am I wrong?

EDIT: I will always be shifting at 7k, so I don't feel I need to worry about valves/springs/retainers and all of that. But I MIGHT do the work, and get a PNP on the head if its going to be out, but hell I might as well do cams then too lol.

i wouldnt go below a 2.7, cuz at that point it seems luike the m62 would really be getting ineffecient and you would be pushing the blower itself. If your gonna build the motor, you should get a tvs or turbo setup to really take advantage of it.

I do agree that a turbo setup would be very nice, however they are very expensive. I would rather spend 50 bucks and swap pulleys to gain a little power, than to spend 3 to 5 grand on other things.

If I currently spend 50 bucks on a pulley to get a little more power, than the 600 for diamond pistons, and use the 50shot I already have. I would be making roughly 350whp or close to it on my dynojet dyno =D. Woot.
