So far car is making a lot less power than before with the 3" straight pipe to the turbo

not a super surprise. you ahve to keep up exhaust velocity .. whats your header setup?

No surprise here. I bet you're also making less boost as well.

Originally when first on dyno it made 350 as the boost did drop. He tweaked it and got a little more out of it. Turned the boost to where it was before and made only 383. Turned it up to nearly 30psi and the horsepower dropped and is now making around 360-370hp

... somethings wrong there.. me thinks boost bleedoff for sc is not setup right so not NEARLY enough exhaust velocity to spin up that huge turbo.. 30 psi out of just that turbo should make you like 600 lol hell least 500 to the wheels

these are all just my guesses and i've never touched a twincharged car

I have the vibrant header and downpipe with no cat. It goes straight back from there with 3" and reduces to 2.5 a little before the turbo to help create velocity. What makes no sense is how I'm making way less power with the boost turned up and how I made 383 on one run then after that lose nearly 20 horse

Question is, 30 psi at the turbo OR 30 psi after the blower? If its after the blower Then you're only outputting like 11 psi from the blower (well that would be with a 2.8" pulley), bigger pulley would make for a lower pressure ratio on the blower and would require more boost from the turbo to get the same boost (but be more efficient)

Have the GM stage 2 pulley on there. We are reading boost at the intake manifold.

Supercharger is fully bypassed around 4500 rpm's

If you're only using the little bypass valve then its not fully bypassed.

What he means is that the SC is paypassed by not making boost. Once that valve opens, the SC can't make boost anymore.

Well as Im sure many of you figured, my car was not ready to be taken home yet. More drivability tuning needs to be done to it as well as a solution to why the car is not making any power. Also something needs to be done with the exhaust as it is wayy to loud to drive around. I probably wouldn’t even make it home without getting pulled over for as loud as it is so a resonator is going to have to be a must.

Below is a graph of some of the pulls made tonight. (not listed in order of pulls) I believe one pull is missing as well. (the first pull made on the exact tune as it was before with the previous exhaust made around 350hp and dropped boost from about 27 to 23-24ish. So with just swapping the exhaust and eliminating the resonator the car lost about 58whp and about 4psi. Next he started tweaking the tune and was only able to get into the 360’s. Eventually he turned the boost up slightly higher than we had it before the exhaust change and the most we could get out of it was 384 (at 28-29psi) which is still about 24whp less than I was making on the 2.5” exhaust with a bit lower boost. IAT’s were perfect throughout every run averaging in the 90’s. That 384hp pull was on the rich side so Fred tried leaning it out a bit and the next pull we start losing all the power getting back into the 360’s. At this point we have no idea what is going on. We check all connections, spark plugs and even do a compression test. Tried tweaking and making a few more pulls and we are stuck in the 360-370hp range.

We are sensing boost right at the intake manifold which pretty much would seem to eliminate a restriction in the charge pipe or exhaust (as if the charge pipe was blocked the IM would probably read less pressure & if the exhaust was restricted the turbo wouldn’t be able to spool efficiently to create enough boost). The supercharger (which is using the gm stage 2 pulley) is completely bypassed around 4500 rpms. The current exhaust set-up is the vibrant header & down pipe with gutted cat and from there 3” straight back and reduced to 2.5” a foot and a half or so before the turbo to help create velocity.

So he took the car home as he is going to be doing drivability tuning on it when he has the time. Monday will be the day he starts getting into the car to try and figure out what its going on. Any more idea’s on what some possibilities could be would be greatly appreciated thanks!

Also just noticed on the graph my powerband seems to be improved all the way up to 4500 rpm with the 3” but after 4500 something happens

that graph looks a lot smoother now too even with the transition from sc-turbo

Yeah, any ideas on what could be causing me to lose all this power now though?

Fred can't seem to figure out what's going on. I'm getting closer and closer to the point I get rid of the twincharge setup all together and get a zzp turbo kit. Either that or just strip the car to stock and sell it.

Nope haven't even got to drive it. He is still doing drivability tuning and on top of that the car is too loud to drive with straight pipes. No clue when he is finishing it. I called today and he wasn't even working on it. He said he was going to start during the later afternoon and he would call me back with updates. Havent heard back from him though
