I was not aware of this issue. However, I have a return style and have never seen it.

Thanks for the info guy, i passed the info and should be getting that checked out soon. Now back to the BOV, I know some of you told me to ditch the HKS and go with Tial.. which I most likely plan on doing. Anyways I mentioned it to Fred @ SMG and he said the flutter is completely normal for that BOV as some of you already mentioned but he said it has no negative effect on the turbo. He said BOV flutter and turbo flutter are 2 different things. He said if the turbo were to flutter Id hear the difference. So today I drive the car a little and throw the gopro on there. After watching the video I heard what may be turbo flutter. Not the best video but you should be able to hear what Im talking about. Its a noise Id never hear from the drivers seat considering how loud the exhaust is and the turbo being where its at. Just wanted to post the video clip to see if you think that may be flutter Im hearing.

meh bov should never flutter either imo if it does something isn't right. sounds like compressor surge, your turbo is rear mounted, right? shouldn't be picking up the bov with the cam that far back anyways which would further make me come to that conclusion. i had bad compressor surge with my greddy type rs lol and that sounds pretty much just like it.

yeah I figured thats what it probably is. So do you think just swapping over to a Tial BOV will fix that problem?

Should I go with the 8psi spring or the 10psi spring? I know they say 8psi is intended for the LSJ but I wasn’t sure if anything changes being as custom as I am with this car.

It's all based off of what -hg you see in vacuum at idle. I have the 8psi, the bov stays open at idle but zzp said it's ok cause it's pre maf so it can be accounted for.

Where is your BOV mounted? Where is the vaccum line connected? Are there other components T'd into the same vacuum line?

The BOV is located below the drivers side headlight. I asked Fred a few days ago about if anything was tied into the vacuum line for the BOV and he said it wasn't. He said the reason why the BOV itself didn't flutter before was because originally he had them tied in with others. Ill have to take my headlight out tomorrow after work to confirm this. Im sure its pretty straight forward to see if its not tied in with other components right?

Yeah, just make sure it has it's own vacuum line and find out where the line is connected.

The only thing I know that he tapped into the IM was meth injection. He may have tapped the vacuum line there though.

FINALLY got an inspection sticker, he had to mess with the tune or something like that. He said he also fixed the fuel issue which was caused by the walbro fuel pump. He installed a new1 and said it is now all set

some blowoffs have 2 nipples on them for vacuum lines. 1 above and below the spring I think. I cant remember off the top of my head but depending on the psi maybe you would have either just the top line hooked up or both. Mine fluttered a lot cus I had both lines connected until someone noticed and now it does the crisp blow off.

Some one can chime in if they know what I'm talking about.
