bingo, car goes from dynamic to maf only at around that rpm on an 05 so if your sputtering right then it's probably your maf.
easiest way to check your maf using hpt v2.22.
go to the editor:
engine>airflow>dynamic airflow lower the setting to 2400/2400 take a drive and if your maf is bad it should start to stutter above 2400 rpms

hmm...wonder what my problem is. my car sometimes seems to hesitate when starting. somedays the rpms will jump to 2000 almost when turning the car on, other days its below 1000 rpms and hesitates...it seems to misfire alot also. tonight when i was driving it wot from a 2nd gear pull i found it to misfire a bunch at the high rpm range...im running ngk iriduim 2 step colder. had them on for probably 9 or 10 months now...any ideas?

mines not the maf then i still believe i have bad coil packs we will see this weekend when i swap them out

Stop driving your car till you can get a real tune your detonating not misfiring! Your engine will not last in this condition!!!!! Get it tuned now!

colder doesnt always mean better. If you have a set of stock plugs try them at idle.

I had a similar issue when i was tuning my car and i hit "smooth" on the timing table and it did the same thing since it advanced timing in other cells. Also KR'd like hell in the upper band under WOT.

just shooting out ideas.

also the startup is fine. Mine will go 1-2k and then hover while it is warming up. pre-warmup setting in hptuners can fix it but it isnt detremental.

i have an appointment at rpm motorsports next thursday...hopefully they can fix this and get it running right cause im wanting everything tweaked perfectly so i can ad a 50 shot!
