This is my first attempt at posting pics...so please bear with me. If this doesn't work, just search for my pics in the gallery.

I installed the K&N Typhoon intake system. The first thing I noticed was increased snap from the line and more power downrange. It is certainly louder and has a characteristic whine, but I'm certainly happy with the results. The install is fairly easy and the instructions from K&N are right on...with one exception. You must connect the boot to the throttle body BEFORE connecting it to the tube. Much less hassle on the install this way.

I've put almost 1000 miles since the install...and no CEL. The only things I can think of that would be causing them would be either air leaks at your connections, or clogging of the filters...both of which would create the changes necessary to force the CEL in the system.

Nice pics. The only issue I had with my K&N on install was the filter was a lil low and it aws kind of hard putting the molding back on underneath the filter but I got it on. Other than that absolutely no CEL.... yet...

I had the same issue at first. As long as you start from the front on the bottom, work around the side, then up the wheel well, pulling it into alignment as you go, you will have an easier time of it.

i see some good posts.....but no one has more dyno numbers?....been wanting to buy for some time but no great info other then the xtc...most are just "its great, i like it"...wanna see some graphs to compare power curves...other wise i'll just go with cheapy aem...

To me, it looks like there are two intakes to really chose from that stick out, the XTC or the Injen. With that being said, what exactly does XTC mean when they say to re-use the stock air box? My main concern is sucking up water down here in florida during these down poors. If I can quickly "water proof" the filter, I'd be much happier, but is that even possible?

hey guys my AEM is on its way. I assume its fairly easy to install, but do you guys think i will have any problems with it? (CEL?) I know the AEM is the least pretty ha, but i heard it has one of the best performance and least problems, any thoughts?

You heard wrong...

They're all fine if you know how to install. The perfomance gains are not very spread apart.

Is there any way to get that first post to detail specific product numbers? I think that would be helpful (as well as HP/Torque charts, as previously mentioned).

I'm new to this posting so bar with me...

I have heard alot of people talk about cold air intakes and I have read over all of the post. The problem seems to be the average person doesn't have a dyno in their garage to test gains on all the cold air intake products out there. Then it seems unfair to compare a cold air intake with other cobalts that have differant mods. Is it true that you could have differant gains in HP and TORQ with differant other mods effecting it? With this said, it seems I should make a decision on what looks best with my color and theme? Is a cold air intake the best first mod to make? Give me some good feedback....

From what I've been reading, you should get around 10 whp for a CAI (notice how I said around, gains vary with mods, engine compression, fuel etc).

I do think that this is a great first mod.

As far as chosing which one to get, it really all depends on which brand you have faith in and what style you like best, whether it be one peice or two peice. They all pretty much do the same thing.

wat do u guys think about the weapon r cai?

I'm not sure. I have never seen this intake and I have yet to see anyone with the Weapon R intake on the forum. Maybe someone could post a reply with pics?

Injen and K&N fit really well, Injen states a higher HP increase. No modifications to fit, as it is a direct bolt on. We now have a few in stock @ www.TurboTechRacing.com with FREE shipping to the lower 48 states

ive been lookin at INTAKEs, and i am some what confused with a few of them, some have the right SS/SC part number but say its for the 2.2L

can u put part numbers with the Make of intake PLEASE PLEASE PLESE

No modifications to fit and I do not believe they had any problems putting it on.

your an engineer and you paid for your install wow thats the easiest mod to do yourself

engineers just design the parts, they have no idea how to put them on...

haha, no i would of done it myself, but my buddy owns the garage so I just had him do it for me while i was at work because i wanted it on for that evening.

I have had it on for about two weeks now and havent had a cel or noticed loss of excess gas. its all in the computer, the directions say to disconnect the battery during install, that will allow your computer to adjust to the excess airflow.

I'll probably go outside and have my cel light on now that i said that...

I installed my AEM CAI on Saturday. woohoo took about 1 hour doing it on my dirt driveway. lol I could have done the Airbox mod, yada yada, I simply wanted a bolt on part. installation was VERY easy, the fit was good.

Power went up a tad, ( 1st gear tire smoking is just a press of the pedal now and happens quicker.

Boost happens faster.

Sound is awesome and was my main goal.;

all in all the car is a little peppier.

next will be the GM stage upgrade.

NO CEL yet.....
