Ok for those of u that have not seen a zzp block and stock block here u go.

stock block
notice the black line around the cylinders that is the water jacket with this open like that it causes the casting to move under high stress and pressure from more boost and compression

These things rev pretty quick as-is, I wouldn't have wasted the money on that

i had a friend do the work for free..im a machinest so 99% of this build will be done by me and parts. still will be a bundle..

having a crank knife edged isn't for just weight reduction it helps the crank glide through the oil easier and less friction with it.

doesn't matter what anyone says then, looks like you already made up your mind that this is going to help your car out.

i know it would be alot cheaper to go turbo but with the way cops have been about the smog laws over here in cali. they have smog checks randomly now im the middle of the road. so ne tween this engine and e85 i can do almost whatever i want to cuz it will still burn clean and it won't look to moded visualy.

not everyone wants to turbo u nut swinger. I am supercharged and lay waste to 90% of the turbo guys and that was on the stock block. I am building my motor now for less than it would have cost to turbo, and my new setup will rape

i already have a built 2.0 on e85 and its not enough. the idea here will be to have a 500+ lsj with a sc on it still. hoping the m62 but don't think it will take me much past 400

the crank dosent come close to hitting the oil in these engines the crank dosent come past the bedplate knife edging is more for crank windage then anything else and i also know of one person who did that and lost power

is lighter better yes to a point it is but to light is a not so good goodluck making 500hp on a m62

all the oil from the piston coolers lands on the crank and adds drag and weight to the cranks rotational mass. i thank u Alot for the input. its helped out Alot. im doing this from past experience. im not sayin ill even make 400 with the m62. but zzp did it with a fairly basic build im sure they have gone way past that but the point here is squeezing every bit out of this thing with reliability to a point. im building this engine to take a hard track beating wen its 110 degrees outside 2 days a week..there isn't much I've over looked its all goin to be 100% there will not be any half ass **** on this build..

im also goin to be adding a oil filter relocation kit to add a oil temp controlled system to the car to keep the oil viscosity and crush stable and a constant temp.

I like it. All great stuff. Its not very often you see new ideas def a good read so far. Wanna have all your machine buddies work on my motor too? haha

zzps 402whp build on the M62 had alot of stuff in it. Stage 3 cams, and they revved the ever living **** out of that motor. I also ran faster than tims redline on my stock block with the TVS than they did on that stroker motor. While i agree u dont need a turbo, u will need a more efficient compressor than the m62. At most ull hit 400 like them. The m62 was also on a 2.5 pulley and he had an ati overdrive dampner which actually made it rev like it had a 2.4 on it

the engne already has a temp controll to maintain oil temp

your buddy did a nice job on the crank but i think he took way to much off did you do a before and after weight

i understand but having a oil cooling system off the engine will keep th oil cooler and at a more constant rate. and it will free up some efficiency for the engine cooling system. I've had a oil temp sensor in almost every spot on my 2.0 and I've noticed that the oil temperature varies anywhere from 0 to 50 degrees above engine coolant during a hard pull.. So by getting the initial oil temperature below the coolant temperature will (im hopeing) stabilize the oil temperature as it goes through the engine..

nut swinger because people like turbos. that's about as stupid as calling someone a nut swinger for using disc brakes instead of 4 wheel drums..

and turbo kits are not expensive, the last one I had putting out around 370whp/360wtq only cost a bit more than $1500 for everything down to the last bolt and tune file.

The idea here is to have a badass engine with the stock sc or tvs...turbo isn't my thing i know that is way cheaper and easier..and with the 2.4 lsj i can get it to pass the emissions on e85...im just to lazy to pull the turbo kit off and put it back on. i would much rather just pull into the smog place and not worrie about it. and the cops here r cracking down on major mods

no nutswinger because the turbo guys are always pushing turbos for power. News flash on my stock block and head i made what your turbo kit made, and i paid less for my tvs. 1300$ i stated he would need more of an efficient compressor, but it doesnt always have to be a turbo period. everyone on here thinks u need a turbo to be fast but thats not the case. A 5557 turbo on E85 and slicks just went 12.6-12.8 and trapped lower than me and he has a 450whp dyno printout. One day maybe everyone will learn its about power under the curve not peak power.

(and i built my motor for less than 1500$ in parts)
