Trying to decide which performance mods to get?

I have a budget of aprox 1500-1600$ to invest in performance parts. Should I go with the ZZP stage kits? Or something else? I need advices please

Splurge a little and pick up one of the used TVS blowers for sale, then drop some money in exhaust and cooling mods. Is it completely stock right now?

Currently I have a Magnaflow exhaust system and the headers are changed also, not sure which one, it was the previous owner who did it. It's completely stock besides that. What gains can I expect from swapping to a TVS?

Header..... there is only one!

Take a look through the lsj performance section. All your answers can be found in there with a little reading.

300 WHP easy on the TVS and pump, add about 50 to that for E85. So pretty much 50% more power than you're currently making.

We rarely see 300WHP on TVS dyno's w/o E85.

More typical is 280 on pump.

Ported head, small pulley, option b, and 42 or 60# injectors or 80# if going e85 and be happy.

Of course you must leave some money for a tune otherwise there would be no point to your modding.

A dyno depends on so much that it's basically just another number. My car dynoed 215 with the mods in my sig on 33" tires but go ahead and tell me your 330 hp turbo Subaru is faster. I'm gonna copy my dyno sheet for the next guy I beat with a claimed 300 plus HP car so he can whipe his ass with it. My bet is your 280 is right and I don't even like you.

LSJs are extremely consistent. There is no such thing as a magic tune or factory freak or one guy with XX mods that's makind 20% more power than another guy. It's just basic air in = HP out with minor variations. There are variations on dyno's but that doesn't make your car is making more HP, it's just the calibration of the dyno and operator in terms of correction factor. If a dyno says you made 240WHP stock then obviously it's going to read very high mod'd as well and vice versa.

Using our dyno this is how it goes:

STock LSJ 225WHP
STage LSJ 255WHP
TVS LSJ 280WHP
Turbo LSJ 325 WHP

Those are roundabouts, what we expect. When the car makes a lot less (10HP or more), we look for problems before doing anything else. There is almost always a prob in this case.

Some cars make a little more. Up to 10HP more, that's when everything is perfect or the car is a 'freak'. Mods change those numbers upward but in very small amounts. It's not til you do cams or E85 where you see the 20-30 HP jumps.

The turbo of course can make nearly unlimited boost so with octane you can just keep turning up the power til the turbo size is the limit. We got to nearly 900WHP on Ryan's car at 55psi or so with turbo. You just can't make huge power with blowers on small displacement because the HP required to drive the blower goes up as boost does.

we all know it takes power to drive a blower and i agree about factory freaks no such thing but a tuner can be the diffrence in 280hp to 320 hp on the same dyno

There have been a few that made over 300 with the stock pulley.

Powell made 305whp with the stock pulley.

Yes, gas... GMR ported head, stock cams, full exhaust were his mods.

oh and Area47 tuned. That helps.

But there have been stock head cars that made 300whp on the stock TVS pulley.

Dig for it, the threads are in here.

Just saying that 280whp is about normal for a stock tvs pulley car with the normal mods. Not e85 or meth

Yes that helps. Bryan tuned my car a year or so back

Like stated I would source a TVS if I were you..it all depends on what your goal is..all out power or reliability and power..cant go wrong with a TVS with that kind of loot
