Might be helpful if you define "better" as that is a pretty vague question.

touring is deep and mellow. with a growl when you punch it. suitable generally for people who want a smooth deeper sound. and want it quiet on long drives....and not quite as "obnoxious" ripping around the streets.

Performance is deep and agressive. with a more noticable and louder rumble when you punch it.
Built more for the person who wants to be heard. and loves the sound of a deep agressive exhaust note.

you should always have the camera out of direct line with the exhaust.
and try to put it about 15-20 feet away at least.

I dont know why people always do exhaust shots right in the exhaust.
it doesnt give a very good representation of the sound.

I mean....do you often have your ear in the exhaust stream?

Not everyone is a proffesional camera man like you...don't be a jackass with your responses. 15-20 ft advice cool. But don't be a jackass about it

*shrug* i never intended to be disrespectful at all....
I dont see where i was.

but honestly, think about it for a second. if someone says "hey come here and listen to my exhaust"
you dont go put your head by the tailpipe.....

True sounds of your exhaust are best taken in the drivers seat (where your going to hear it most)

A drive by (where everyone else will hear it most)

Or standing beside the car a little ways away (where people will hear it when your stopped)
