Understand what your doing... but no mandrel bends=no no for me
that 2.5" exhaust is gonna b more like a 2" exhaust in places... which therefore makes the whole thing a 2" exhaust

It's all good. As i said before i don't mind if this little experiment flops. Atleast we'll have the information on what and doesn't work.

Custom = quality control and fitment issues, no thanks. The market is saturated with catbacks for the cobalt.

quiet seems to be the way to go with this little car. but honestly do you think the bottleneck on the stock exhaust is the piping or the muffler? where are the companies getting the extra power from? and how do you plan on getting extra power. why not make something with a nice cutout on it so we could be loud or quiet

Extra power comes from echanging he 2.25" pipe after the resonator and replacing it with 2.5" like the rest of the exhaust system.

muffler, downpipe and header are the most restrictive areas on the stock exhaust.

you must be talking about the section right by the rear axle...if you look, you can see where it is put together and the second part (that goes over the axle) is a def. restriction...

Steve, is the piping really 2.25 from the res. back?

I would say quiet, but with a nice deep growl when you step on it...ughh brings me back to the GMPP exhaust.

Not sure if you missed it, but this would fit up on a 2.2, right?

Yes i did miss that question. I apologize. Does the 2.2L have the same exhaust routing and connectors as the LSJ cars? If so then yes it probably would.

Good.

Mufflers were delivered to the shop this morning. IF and i do mean IF this little idea is successful. I'm thinking about maybe coming out with some more product's for the LSJ. Nothing extreme...

1. 1 7/8th Long Tube header with 3" collector. I'm thinking a 3" HFC option as well.
2. Race ported Head Package designed to get 2.8" pulley and lower owners to 280-300whp with the stock eaton
3. 2.5L Stroker kit. We'll see about this one. Not sure how much we can bore the stock block.

Just talking at the moment tho.

Bring this little bitch to the top. The exhausts are back on. What changed? I just bought myself another redline{Pics in pic directory}. 04, 30K miles, Black, bone stock.

I'm juggling ;life between 2 jobs right now so let's put it as the weekend of the 1st i will have bone stock and 3" custom bent exhaust dyno numbers.

I'm not even going to waste time with a 2.5". Not worth it and i think guys will benefit from it more.
