Wrong. An oxygen sensor doesn't work based on heat, it works based on the concentration of oxygen in the exhaust gas. The ECU takes the readings from the pre-cat and post cat O2 sensors and checks the variation between the two, in other words how well the cat is working. So by replacing OEM with a high flow, you'd also have to reprogram the variation of the 2 O2 sensors in the ECM. Did I lose anybody?

I don't think anyone has answered this yet but does the down make the exhaust louder, deeper or not change the sound? I've also heard that there are no gains from it.

I think it makes it SLIGHTLY louder. but nothing crazy and you would only be able to tell if you were listening for it

That quote was perfect! +1 rep . I just took out my ca downpipe tonight becuase it kept throwing a cel code. So now I am just running gmpp manifold, stock dp, and magnaflow cb. On a side note, CA 2.5 dp with high flow cat for sale :-)

Thanks man! I figured I'd drop a lil knowledge on the subject...But I think, In theory, If I changed my spark plugs, I'd be able to get the code to NOT come up. I'll keep you posted

Well that squashes that theory...I guess I'll just shut it off with HP tuners

Actually, the rear O2 sensor has nothing to do with the AFR. The only reason the rear O2 sensor is there is to verify the cat is working and the temp it is working. If the cat gets hot, the engine dumps fuel in order to cool things in the engine. As far as reprograming the rear O2 sensor, I don't think there is a way to change the value in HPTuners.
And changing the spark plugs won't make the code go away....turning it off makes that happen.

I didn't read all the other pages, but I just got my zzp header and 3" dp on, with the high flow cat....nice gain, I do have to say. I had some problems when the bolts they gave me snapped and destroyed the gasket between the header and dp.
But for the money, the product really can't be beat.

got mine put on today also. one of my bolts snapped about 2 hours after i got it put on. i'm taking it to a muffler shop in the AM to get it fixed. think they'd have a gasket to replace mine if it's distroyed as yours was?

look familiar?

I had to make my own gasket, which wasn't that bad....but on mine both bolts snapped, so it was hanging down far enough that the gasket was flopping around all over the place....since yours was just one bolt, then I'd say the pipe and header were still together enough that the gasket should be ok....but if it isn't, they can make you one or you can. I ended up buying a huge sheet of it and it only cost $12.

That pic looks nothing like my bolts did...it looks like yours just came loose...the end of the bolt is still there, so they just didn't tighten it enough, or the didn't retighten after the exhaust had a chance to warm up and cool back down....
Looks like all you need is a new nut and your golden. Just DIY and see what happens. Your gasket looks like it should be ok...

Alright, thanks a lot. After it happend, i had to drive my car to go get my GF. Think it'd still be ok? It was just loud as hell, but i hope i didnt loose the other end of that bolt.

btw; the nut on the other end of the bolt was in half.. i found 1/2 of it.

Hmm...yeah as far as driving the car itself will be fine, just loud as hell....just fix it yourself, buy some better bolts, don't take it to an exhaust shop so they can rape you on labor, its not that hard to do. Get some locking washers too just for that extra bit of security....

haha it was loud probably cuz it was leaking so it was acting like a dump.. i'm surprised you weren't throwing a code or 2 from improper 02 or something, my suggestion. regardless of what if they're broken or not.. buy a new set of better bolts and replace them alll... then PM me what they need to be torqued so i can do it myself haha

SOUND CLIPSSS PLEEEEAAAAACCCEEEEEEE I'm aching to hear it ... before and after install I don't care what kind of cat back you're using ... hmm now that I think about it why doesn't zzp make a cat back ???

I torqued my new bolts to my own strength (rawwrrr, lol). And not a single problem, but I did use locking washers which might have helped.

I could get a sound clip tomorrow of it with my stock cat-back...its a bit deeper and louder, but a few more backfires, but my car is rich as mr. scrooge too, so that doesn't help.

Oh yeah, and no codes for me, which surprised me, the o2 had to have been reading completely wrong....my dp was at least a full 2 inches away from the header.
