To ZZP Painted Header/DP owners from first GB

Paint on headers is more of a look pretty thing to look good until they are installed. I have yet to find a paint that will withstand the temperatures that your header sees, regardless of what they advertise. Ceramic is nice, but ceramic is porous and will eventually end up with rust spots peppering the surface. The lasting solution that I find looks good over time is stainless steel headers with a ceramic coating. The stainless steel will resist corrosion even though the ceramic allows moisture to get to the metal.

Mine is still good, no problems. I did that whole, bake it in the oven progressively raising the temp before putting it on though. Dont know if that helped, but it didnt hurt any.

Haha, no luckily not. I even moved one of the ionic breezes in front of the stove just in case. Our stove I guess forms a good seal. Just make sure you kick it up to around 650*-700* for a couple hours after you finish to get any chemicals out that might have made it through lower temp baking.
