That deserves a +1 in rep lol

Any ways like it was stated above and like I said...were not trying to knock you or "hate". Just trying to make sure that you don't end up having to get anything rebuilt again. "Shade tree" mechanics or not. A lot of these people exspecially Adam (NJHK) know what there talking about. I would totattly trust adams advice when it comes to turbos and everything else. Trust me he wouldn't point you in the wrong direction. Haha I plan on calling him when I'm ready to slap the turbo on my car.....So adam please don't change your sell number

you better look at the GM build guide and see what Tranny those 1400+hp cobalt fwd drag cars are using. I'll help ya with that. The same trany that is in my car. The build gude doesn't even have them doing anything to the tranny in my car till the car reaches 600+ hp.

ive rode in a Camaro auto matic with a slap wrachet shifter in it. that thing pulled its wheels off the ground and cherped tires in every gear, but it helped that he upped the line pressure to the gears in the trany

thats what i just did with the B&M shiftplus. it eliminated the lag from shifting gears. my car squaks tires when it shifts from 1st to 2nd and again from 2nd to 3rd. Dont do crap though from 3rd to Drive

lol my wife is ASE certified. not to say she isn't intelligent, but I have had the unpleasant time of meeting some people with the same certification who couldn't understand basic design ideas based around fluid dynamics.

I think Adam meant 2 + 2 = Chair

lol shadetree mechanics? thats great. the people in here who are stopping to take the time to post and show you the possible and obvious error in your ways of thinking are doing so to help and save you time and money. I can vouch for about all of them, and I tend to associate with knowledgable people rather than those who assume and lack experience (ask Joe and the time attack guys at GM, they know my group pretty well I'd say).

for the record, there is 1 shop right now who I trust to build and tune a turbo cobalt/ion, who happens to be a town over from me, and thats because they tuned the Garrett kit for SEMA. it used to be assumed that you can trust any professional looking shop to put together and calibrate a quality setup, but with how many new vehicles are coming out with shorter model lifespans, and also those who want money in their pocked over happy customers, you need to be very very careful with who you trust to do any work. I really hope I'm wrong though in reference to the establishment you are talking about.

There you go. Thank you Vinny. Knew you would have something helpful to say. Its basically what I've been trying to say all along.

haha I just read through this thread...wow...

Kwanzabot 5000 - I told my brother about when you called me the other day, he was cracking up. What size panties do you wear and what color? I'll send you some extras lol.

ORT - it's all good homie, no sweat.

I can't wait for Elvis to come down here in August so we can get some footage of the turd. I hope he walks me like I walk the guys around here lol.

I want to see a dyno sheet for this 151whp auto 2.2 lol. be careful messing with line pressure, it isn't one of those things that are win-win. if you're not already plumb in a decent 3 or 4 pass tranny cooler to at least prolong the life unless you're planning to swap it out for a manual soon anyway.
