I found a Mechman 240amp alternator on ebay for a 2008-2009 cobalt 2.2l. I have a 2005 2.2. Will it fit and plug up directly or will there be differences that wont make it work?


Also about how many watts per amp from the alternator would i get? I want to upgrade my system more one day and hopefully run some massive power through it.

 

You only wanna do this to upgrade your stereo?

 

Ill be running almost 5k watts rms. Plus i got HIDS LEDS..several other things that suck electricity. So its beneficial to my entire electrical system.

 

if your planning on going big with your sound system do it if not LEDS do not pull power they take alot less to power and hids dont suck that much power

 

I know they dont pull much power. But that wasnt my question.

My question was will an alternator for a 2008-2009 2.2l fit my 2005 2.2l? Will it plug directly in or are the connectors different?

 

call autozone/advanced, or any part store and see if the part numbers interchange between years.
