bouncey idle s/c 2.2

well me and vince have been working on a idle issue with my car. The first tune was good until after awhile of driving where it would bounce from 500-1500 at a stoplight then stall if i didn't keep my foot on the gas. Now with the retune its worse...starts bouncing right away but this time stalling but it constantly bounces unless i am pressing the gass....a/f reads about 14-13.4 during the bouncing period.

Any of you s/c'd 2.2 guys have any input on why this is going on??

sometimes, under the same conditions i will trigger a almost identical situation, but mine will bounce from 800-1200 rpm, but that may be from the 60'sm bc i give it a little bit of gas and it stops and idles fine...does it worse with the AC on

Mine when stock would do it between 500-1k, it seems to do it less with the bolt ons.

I think it could just be a hiccup of the electronic throttle(if so many have it), only time I had that problem was after my cam install the IAC got damaged.

Ya so Vince and I have come to the conclusion it could very well be my throttle body is closing too much during deceleration. The TB has been acting up since I put it on with "jittering at WOT" and the idle issues. My air fuel was fixed but now it still dips into the 10's during WOT pulls. The only thing I can do is swap the throttle bodies with another and see if that helps anything...If not then I have to look for another solution

That the best way to go about trial and error. I wish you luck it can be a pain finding a gremlin.

I don't know then...Thats kinda wierd. I rewiredmy rewire connector....cleaned my throttlebody AGAIN and still not a thing better. a/f's are f**ked up like when I come to a light they stay at 14.7ish but when I stop it'll jump all the way to 10 sometimes and then it'll stall out after hitting the stall preventer thing-a-ma-bob sensor. Can't track down a used TB local so its either back to stock and sell everything off and buy a TC or turbo the goddamn thing haha

UPDATE!!! No more bouncy idle thanks to the stock 2.2 plugs and TAC wires re wired with some fancy all in one shrink tube and solder connectors. Works pretty good and actually getting more boost now too! Just gotta pick up some copper core plugs this week and I am good to go now. Thanks for everyone who helped!

Ya I am going to pick them up. Ordering them tomorrow as no shop carries them local. But for now my stockplugs are working alright

I am getting at least 14PSI but I just took a quick glance. before I only seen 14 once and the rest was always 12psi

clean the TB real well. If you still have a problem, ask vince to raise the TB area scalar a bit. If its still there, ask vince to raise idle speed a bit as well

I think you might have had bad connection to your throttle body, I know plenty of J-bodies and Cobalts running around with superchargers and iridiums.

i found no difference between using stock plugs, Bosch L61 plugs, or NGK 1 step colder LSJ iridiums.
