Cobalt LS to SS seat swap

Anyone done a swap from the cloth seats to the leather ss seats?? i did this last weekend and the passenger seat doesnt have a sensor for the airbag so the airbag doesnt turn on and the service airbag light stays on. Anyone know if there is a way to keep the airbag on maybe wiring it up differently or something??

^ this. it's fairly simple to do. I had to do it when i got my ss seats... or i suppose you could ground the wire and the airbag will always be on but it's not too hard to take the sensor out of the old seat and put it in the new one..

Or you can just swap the seat skins. Thats what I did two weeks ago. Took about an hour to do both seats. I went from grey leather to the back and red ss seats. I swapped the skins to keep the heated seats and the air bag sensors. Pretty easy job actually. I also took off the plastic piece for the seat belt you guys have for the coupe as well.

Should have bought the seats outright or taken off the sensor. Every year is different so if he didnt have the same year cobalt your sensors are useless to him. Any chance he would send you the sensors?

pop off the springs holding on the wire thing (youll see what im talking about), remove it, pull out the sensor and the wiring (once again youll see what i mean) and then repeat when putting it into the other seat.

that was very vague but should be enough to get you through it

Mine was nothing like that lol. Everything was on with little plastic rivets and the wiring was crazy under the 08 2lt seat frame. Compared to nothing at all under the 05 ss frame. The tabs and mounts arent even there. lol

Switching covers is easy.
