Downpipe- Cat-back missmatch

I currently have a 2 3/8 Vibrant cat-back on my 2.2. I am going to turbo it and didnt really want to replace my exhaust, however i do want a new downpipe. Now if i get a 3" downpipe i realize that it will only flow as much as the cat-back will allow, but is it ok to have a downpipe that is this large going to the smaller sized exhaust? I was also thinking about putting an electronic cutout on the end of the downpipe. What do you think?

if you really are going turbo, i'd get a bigger exhaust. if you dont go turbo, a 2.5in DP will be fine. adding a turbo will cost close to $4000 in parts alone....i'd spend the extra $500 in a 3" exhaust if your serious about going turbo
