Help with my 2.2

I just bought a 07 auto 2.2 ls and i dont know what i should do to my motor. I was wanting to purchase the build your self turbo by ststurbo but i heard they are trying to work on tuning for our cars. And that i would have to buy a tranny cooler and a shift kit for it to. Im new to all of this and trying to do something that not to many ppl in NKY wanna do or have. And i dont know about all the internals for my car either. If someone could help me out i be stoked

A tranny kit is EASY to do.

Around $80 bucks you get this plus line(go to a parts store for the line). I recommend this size so you have peace of mind.

PM for part number for the cooler. I have to dig it up.

the thing that says 2.2 ecotec is the spark plug cover, which is only on the 05-06. you have the individual coil-on packs so there is no cover for it. i think i read somewhere around here that someone is developing a cover for them though.

bolt ons. buy the shift plus. probably the cheapest mod. intake, don't buy the k&n bc its oil based. get urself the AEM dryflow and buy a hydro shield with it. header, do u have SAI? look it up on the search. and u wanna buy a down pipe, and cat back for optimum gains. gmpp is nice, and its also made by borla. best thing is that GMPP won't void warranty. and the 2.4 intake manifold. u'll see some nice gains and all those bolt ons, don't cost THAT much.

It has been awhile since i looked but i think the gmpp "header" is just a honed manifold right? Go with an actual header and dp if your really wanting to spend money on your balt. It will show the best gain and be more worth your money.

yea stay away from the gmpp "header" unless you wanna waste money. go with zzp or vibrant, those seem to be pretty good for people. once you get all the bolt ons done throw a 75 shot in and youll have a good time haha.

Also if you don't want to spend a fortune look into:

Ebay Intake (This works
SS/SC entire exhaust. These will show nice gains for cheap.

I think my car does have the SAI on it. Is it the black tube coming off of the head and into the stock intake piping. If so yeaf i have SAI. What does it stand for and does this make a difference in which intakes i buy. Thanks for the post everyone.

No that pipe you speak of is not SAI. SAI pipe goes from the air filter box back to the header area. See Sticky thread in 2.2L section
