I see alot of ppl.....
Doesn't taking the black plastic covering void the wararnty? I know that sounds like a stupid question but they have reasons for putting that on. It would perhaps be an added benefit to leave it on during the winter time.

The plastic cover is ther to reduce underhood noise, and to keep little poorly eductaed hands out of systems they dont understand....you can remove it easily with no fear of effecting your warranty....that sais the whole "void your warranty" topic seems to be blurry here.....it is possible to have your ENTIRE bumper-bumper AND powertrain warranties voided....it is difficult and would require you to be a complete ass and really abuse your car but it has been done...I personally got a bumper to bumper voided on a 2004 Cavy(another story...ill tell it later) if you remove, modify, tamper with or render inoperative ANY piece part or system of your car the warranty on THAT part is no longer in effect, also any modification that has a direct effect on the operation of any other part can make any given repairt non-warrantable...IE if you install an over-oiled K&N air filter, when your MAF takes a **** due to oil contamination its coming out of your pocket on the same token if all youve done is install a K&N and your left rear wheel falls off its still covered....got it???
With that said the most popular mods for the LSJ in the future will surely be oiled air filters, smaller pulleys, and PCM tuning....be aware that these 3 items CAN wreak havoc with the stock systems.....if you smoke your S/C and its got a pulley on it...guess what that 3grand outta your pocket most likely....if your aftermarket tuning session causes weird false check engine lights the dealer is gonna reprogram it at your expense AND youll have lost the tuning you paid for....just words of caution....and some advice, try to find a dealer that is friendly to modded cars....some are much more forgiving than others....and its the dealers responsibilty to make 90% of all warranty decisions on the first visit....if they dont like YOU...they can and will screw with you...unfortunate but true.
