you do realize that the cam tool from gm holds tension on the chain itself so it doesn't slip at the crank gear right?

your cute little zip tie method. not bright.

I am sure with the stage 2 cams when he needs to adjust some things with the tuning, that his car will be running a hell of a lot quicker

i don't doubt it'll be faster i just want to see by how much and where this newfound power lies. i'd rather not end up trying to wind out the engine like its a vtec, if you know what i mean.

well doing internal work on a motor will have some gains but no one has dyno the stage 2 cams yet with other bolt ons.More dyno tests less explaining on what you feel in the car

So did you also have to upgrade your valvetrain? I would think the more agressive ramp and higher lift of this cam would cause problems with valve float.

Everything is working right. Also every car is going to act a little different; so you will never have a so called perfected tune. You have to adjust to what your ECU likes. Cams are an excellent way to make more power. The more air you can suck in and let out, the better. Trust me it has plenty of "go" to it. As far as "guinea piggin", It's not like we were experimenting to see if they would work. I knew for a long time I could put different cams in.

this is being debated now but they haven't gotten the revs that high yet due to the current tuning process. i believe whole-heartedly that these cams are going to build better power beyond the points that the stock springs are designed to manitain power at which point they will bind causing the valves to float.

without upping the springs and retainers i'd call you a guinea pig my friend. whats up with some high revving load bearing vids?

You can accomplish the same thing by unscrewing the cam chain tensioner bolt from the back of the block. Why argue about this when it has been successful for 2 cobalts so far?

So far the highest i have shifted at is 6000. I have the shift points set at 6475. Yes i am a little weary about bringing it to 6400 so i havent yet. So your still getting almost all the power out of them. I will probably never have to bring it that high anyhow because whoever im racing, i've already smoked em' within the first 50 feet.
