Well I guess there isn't anything wrong with upgrading the springs and retainers to be safe.Maybe if they went with stage 3 or 4 then they would of had to change those 2 things right away.

the upgrade is more about longevity then mere power. sustained high revs over long periods will have an effect.

stage 1 cams are good to 6.8k stage 2 is good up to 7.5k.

hes still going to gain some power from the cams anyways, not saying it will be a 100hp gain, but someone here in Illinois actually redid the cobalt's 2.2 motor and its a 2.6 now.

now dont forget those are only statistics. That power range is an average of where the power usually comes alive.

6.8 to 7.5 is a pretty big difference imo regardless of statistics especially given these cams have yet to be dyno'd.

not trying to beef with you but that's why i'm waiting to see how these cams dyno.

The zip tie idea is brilliant, That could be why almost EVERY time we need to hold the timing chain at work, on numerous styles of engines, we use them. they are cheap, and easy to use.

Here are the dyno sheets to compare the bolt ons before tune and after. Then went i get the car dyno'ed with the cams we can compare. And since everyone wants to see number's heres a start.

This is Bolt ons before tune

Now this is bolt ons with tune (NO CAMS JUST BOLT ONs)

if you look at the second run on the 2nd dyno sheet it looks like i drop hellas it was a different tune
